Aserious apartment fire in central Torrevieja prompted the evacuation of a multi-storey residential building on Friday night, sending flames and thick smoke into the sky and causing significant damage to several homes.
The blaze broke out at around 8.00pm in a property on the corner of Ramon Gallud and Calle Maria Parodi, above a row of commercial premises. Emergency services were alerted shortly afterwards, with firefighters arriving on scene at approximately 8.10pm and working for nearly two hours to bring the fire under control.
The fire is believed to have started on the third floor of the building, reportedly caused by a portable heating device. A man inside the apartment at the time managed to escape unaided.

The flames quickly spread to the second floor, with balconies engulfed and large volumes of smoke visible across the area.
The building, which includes a ground floor, mezzanine, six upper floors and a penthouse, was almost completely evacuated as a precaution. Residents on lower floors were led out into the street, while those on higher levels were instructed to remain inside their homes for safety as firefighters tackled the blaze below.
Moments of panic were reported as residents called for help from windows and balconies while smoke filled the building. Before fire crews arrived, four officers from the Guardia Civil entered the property to check for anyone trapped inside.
No injuries were reported, although at least four apartments suffered material damage.
A total of ten firefighters from Torrevieja and Almoradi stations took part in the operation, supported by senior officers and crews using an aerial ladder to reach the affected floors. Several patrols from the Local Police and Guardia Civil were also deployed, securing the area and managing large crowds that gathered as the incident unfolded.

Although the full extent of the damage is still being assessed, the incident caused significant disruption in one of the busiest parts of the city. An investigation into the exact cause of the fire is ongoing.
The Torrevieja mayor, Eduardo Dolon, was also quickly on the scene of the fire, alongside the Councillor for Emergencies, supporting the families affected, finding out how they were coping and closely monitoring the operation until the emergency was declared over.
In a post on Facebook he thanked the coordinated efforts of the Local Police, the Civil Guard, medical staff, firefighters from the Alicante Provincial Fire Service and municipal staff, which led to four people and three animals being rescued, fires in the affected homes brought quickly under control and the building safely evacuated.
He added that the Council had also provided hotel accommodation for those affected and offered logistical support to all those involved.

Frustration is intensifying across the Vega Baja after the Valencian regional government confirmed that the longpromised upgrade of the CV-95 between Torrevieja and Orihuela will not begin before the end of the current legislative term.
For many residents, the announcement marks yet another delay in a project that has been under discussion for more than 40 years without any significant progress.
The CV-95 is a vital transport corridor linking inland towns such as Orihuela, Bigastro and Jacarilla with the coastal hub of Torrevieja.
Originally designed for much lighter traffic, the road now serves a rapidly growing population alongside heavy seasonal tourism. As a result, it has become one of the most congested routes in southern Alicante, with daily bottlenecks that can stretch for kilometres.
Concerns are particularly acute around access to Torrevieja University Hospital, where traffic congestion is not just an inconvenience but a potential public safety issue.
Emergency crews have repeatedly warned that ambulances are being delayed, sometimes forced to mount medians or use narrow shoulders to bypass stationary traffic.
Healthcare professionals caution that such delays could prove critical for patients suffering heart attacks, strokes, or other lifethreatening conditions.
Despite the urgency, the Generalitat has opted to move for-
ward with a new round of technical studies, rather than immediate construction, with a e1.3 million contract tendered for a 25-month feasibility and planning process to determine how best to deliver the project.
The full upgrade, estimated at e180 million, has also been removed from direct public investment and shifted to a publicprivate partnership model, meaning a private company would finance construction and be repaid over time by the administration.
Infrastructure Minister Vicente Martinez Mus defended the strategy, stating that the government is “fulfilling its commitments” within financial constraints and regulatory requirements.
He also confirmed that the future road would remain tollfree, a measure intended to reassure residents already burdened by daily commuting challenges.
However, the response on the ground has been largely sceptical.
Local leaders and residents argue that successive administrations have repeatedly commissioned studies without delivering tangible improvements. Many fear that the latest plan simply postpones meaningful action until after the next election cycle.
At present, the only concrete development is a limited section between Los Balcones and Mar Azul, which is not expected to be completed before late 2027.
Beyond that, timelines remain uncertain.
As traffic volumes continue to rise, the CV-95 remains an overstretched and increasingly critical artery.

Thieves busted after San Miguel Building Site Raid
A gang of brazen thieves who plundered a construction site in broad daylight has been smashed by the Guardia Civil after a swift investigation.
Two men have been arrested and a third suspect identified over the theft of nearly 600 shuttering boards worth more than e6,500 from a site in San Miguel de Salinas.
The crooks carried out the audacious heist during the day, driving
onto the site in vans and cars and loading up materials without arousing suspicion. Their bold tactics allowed them to operate in plain sight as workers and passers-by remained unaware.
The investigation began after the site manager reported the theft.
Officers from the Guardia Civil’s ROCA unit in Torrevieja, working alongside the investigation team, analysed evidence from the scene and quickly identified the
three suspects.
Two of the men were arrested, while the third was already behind bars after being detained by another unit days earlier while under surveillance.
The suspects, aged 27, 37 and 58, all have previous records for similar offences and now face charges of theft and belonging to a criminal gang. They have been placed before a court in Torrevieja as the case continues.
NEW FLOOD DEFENCES FOR SAN FULGENCIO
A e3 million flood defence project is underway in San Fulgencio, aimed at protecting the town from future overflows of the Segura River.
The scheme centres on the construction of a nearly one-kilometrelong embankment east of the town, designed to hold more than 500,000 cubic metres of water during severe flooding. QUICK THINKING OFFICERS REVIVE 16MONTH-OLD BABY IN DRAMATIC RESCUE
Two off-duty Civil Guard officers became reallife heroes after bringing a 16-month-old baby back from the brink of death following a cardiac arrest in Alhama de Murcia.
The drama unfolded just after 1pm on April 14 as the pair were driving to begin their shift at the Totana barracks. But their routine journey turned into a life-or-death emergency when they spotted a frantic family by the roadside.
A terrified woman was clutching a baby upside down — the little girl was not breathing and had turned blue, while her grandmother desperately tried to revive her.
Without hesitation, the officers jumped into action.
They took the infant and immediately began life-saving procedures, performing a Heimlich manoeuvre adapted for babies along with chest
compressions to restart her heart.
One officer delivered back blows while holding the child face down, as the other administered chest compressions to prevent irreversible cardiac arrest. At the same time, they coordinated with emergency services over the phone, giving updates as the baby slowly began to breathe again.
By the time paramedics arrived, the child had miraculously started breathing.
She was rushed to a local health centre for checks — and in a heartwarming twist, just hours later the same officers visited the family home to find the baby safely back with her parents.
Thanks to their quick thinking and fearless action, a tragedy was turned into a miracle.
Fire Destroys Iconic “Caracola” Ruin at Torrevieja Mud Spa
A dramatic fire has torn through the remains of the abandoned municipal mud spa in Torrevieja, destroying much of the structure known locally as the “caracola.”
The blaze broke out shortly after 5 p.m. on Tuesday at the derelict site inside the Natural Park of the Lagoons of La Mata and Torrevieja, sending a thick column of smoke visible for kilometres, even from nearby towns such as Los Montesinos.
Emergency services responded quickly, with two fire engines battling the flames for around three hours, supported by patrols from the Guardia Civil and Local Police.
The fire mainly consumed the wooden exterior of the structure, although firefighters were also forced to intervene inside the building’s distinctive spiral framework. The unusual design, created by renowned Japanese architect Toyo Ito, has stood abandoned for more than 15 years after construction was halted due to its location on protected coastal land without the necessary authorisations.
Originally conceived as a municipal mud bath complex, the project cost over e1 million but was never completed. In the years since, the site has fallen into ruin, repeatedly damaged by fires and vandalism. Its decaying, controversial design
turned it into a well-known urban curiosity, attracting visitors, explorers, and at times serving as a makeshift shelter.

A police officer was injured after being struck by a minor riding an electric scooter at high speed in Guardamar del Segura, local authorities have confirmed.
According to the Local Police, the incident occurred after officers detected the youth driving recklessly at a reported speed of 87 km/h—well above safe limits for personal mobility vehicles. As officers attempted to stop the rider, the minor collided with one of them, knocking the officer to the ground and causing injuries.
The minor now faces multiple charges, including traffic safety violations and a potential offence of assaulting a law enforcement officer.

I’ve definitely heard it all now, folks; and as soon as I learn something new, I want you to know firsthand. File this one in your ‘world gone mad’ folder.
You already know that in this modern world anybody can claim to be anything they fancy. This one that I am about to tell you reminds me of a newspaper cartoon I saw during an outbreak of the ‘Mad Cow Disease’. Two cows chatting in the field and one asks the other; ‘should we be worried about this Mad Cow Disease?’ The companion cow chuckles as she replies; ‘It won’t bother me – I’m a giraffe!’
Maybe this state of affairs I am about to divulge has been around for a while – as I have been known to be slow off the mark. Anyway, the facts are that there are humans out there who believe they are animals and have formed themselves into a group … or should that be ‘herd’?
‘Therians’, is the name applied to this pack, litter, flock, clutter, drove, farrow … or whatever you’re having yourself. Yes, we are serious. There are clusters of people who wish to live out their animal instincts through what is known as the therian movement. God help us … and just as the last of us was trying to come to terms with the
mixed up gender thingy. When I think of the late Paidi O’Sé and the trouble he found himself in simply for calling Kerry football supporters a bunch of animals.

Brace yourself, Brigid. Being a member of the therian movement is not regarded as a ceist of choice. No indeed, it is considered an involuntary identity and not a question of choice.
The movement has gained traction on social media. (Now, wouldn’t you be very surprised to hear that!)

For example, someone whose theriotype is a frog might feel most fulfilled when hopping around and croaking, while a person … sorry, animal; who is bonded with a penguin might feel more comfortable huddling with loved ones for warmth!
Meanwhile out in the playground, in town parks, open spaces, or anywhere where there is grass, you may observe therians engaging in quadrobics (running and jumping on all fours) or as we say where I come from; ‘bucking around like a suck calf’.
They like to gather in small groups for support. But here again, aren’t they only displaying the animal instincts that have always protected the herd?

A Coastal Network of Watchtowers Dating Back to the 15th Century
The coastal watchtowers of Alicante Province were built as a defensive response to frequent pirate raids by Barbary and Ottoman forces that threatened the Kingdom of Valencia from the late Middle Ages.
For many years, coastal communities suffered repeated attacks with little support from the Crown, prompting the Valencian Cortes to demand stronger protection. Their efforts succeeded in 1552, when the monarchy committed to creating a continuous line of watchtowers and fortifications.
The initiative was formally launched on 15 October 1554 by the Viceroy, the Duke of Maqueda, marking the start of a large-scale defensive programme.
Constructed mainly between the 15th and 17th centuries, the towers were strategically placed within sight of one another, forming a communication network. Using smoke and fire signals, they enabled rapid warnings of approaching threats, allowing residents to prepare or evacuate.
Funding came from taxes on silk production approved in 1547 and 1552, with further financial support added in 1564. This created an effective system that combined military defence with territorial oversight. Several towers still exist today and are protected as Sites of Cultural Interest, including

CIVILIANS PAYING THE PRICE
Ihave written several times registering my total disgust over the religious war of hatred and the abomination of killing which has been going on in the Middle East. I am pleased to see that this week the foreign ministers in many countries including those of Spain and the UK have spoken out against the war and in particular against Israel’s indiscriminate bombing in Lebanon.
They wrote: “We condemn in the strongest terms the attacks of Hezbollah against Israel which must cease immediately. We also condemn in the strongest terms the massive Israeli strikes on Lebanon conducted on 8 April which, according to the latest information shared by the Lebanese authorities, resulted in the death of more than 350 persons and wounded more than 1,000. Civilians and civilian infrastructure must be protected in accordance with international humanitarian law.”

Many Spanish Jews are now hiding their identity, including religious symbols due to fear of harassment or physical attacks.
Jewish communities have reported needing to rely on police presence for school and synagogue security with worshipers going to prayer escorted by police officers.
The latest incident was the burning of a seven-metre effigy of Israeli prime minister Netanyahu at a festival in Malaga.
Like the consequences of the closing of the Strait of Hormuz, it’s another example of the hatred in the Middle East reverberating around the world.
NO END TO TRUMP DELUSION
I doubt if there is anyone who hasn’t seen the dreadful social media depiction of America’s truculent, childish president appearing like Jesus healing a sick person. It was shown on TV channels and in newspapers around the world. I thought he has done it now, he has lost all credibility with American voters and hopefully the world
will see the back of him soon, particularly as it followed his appearing in robes as the Pope and news that he is having personal spats with the new Pope.
Sadly I am wrong. Yes, TV interviews with some would be voters at the mid-terms were critical, but when it came to the Biblebelt those interviewed were full of praise for him. One said: “He can do no wrong he’s the best president America has ever had.”
Oh dear, there is no hope, is there?
This week Trump has been highly critical of Britain on two counts. Firstly he says Britain is dealing with its illegal immigration crisis appallingly, and secondly that Britain should be drilling for oil which it has in abundance in the North Sea and not importing it.
On both counts I agree with him, but that’s about all!
MIGRANT ASYLUM FRAUD
A news story in the UK sickened me this week – that there are many so called law firms and advisers who have become established in the country specifically telling migrants how to pretend and be convincing to be gay in order to stay in the country. Not only that but they are charging thousands of pounds in the process.
BBC reporters went under cover to pretend they were migrants whose visas were due
to expire and learned how they were being given fake cover stories and instructions into how to obtain fabricated evidence, including supporting letters, photographs and medical reports.
They then apply for asylum claiming they are gay and would be persecuted if they returned to their home countries, such as Pakistan and Bangladesh, where it is illegal.
Reform UK has pledged to prosecute lawyers who help illegal migrants make false claims about being homosexual. Incredibly, night clubs purporting to the gay establishments have opened where no one is actually gay, to give even more credence to the claims.
Immigrants are pouring into the UK at an alarming rate and there is no knowing what they have been up to in their own countries or what they are actually running away from.
In my view it’s a ticking time bomb which will hit Britain where it hurts in a few years. I also feel concerned that Spain’s government has approved plans to give legal status to 500,000 undocumented migrants, allowing them to be integrated formally into the workforce.
Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez described his government's decision as both "an act of justice" and a necessity for Spain.
In a letter to Spaniards posted on social media, Sánchez, a socialist, said the mass legalisation sought "to acknowledge the reality of nearly half a million people who already form part of our everyday lives".
Spain's conservative opposition People's Party (PP) has pledged to attempt to block the legalisation, which it said rewards illegal migrants and would encourage more to come.

I’m a recently retired expat in Spain, and enjoy organizing social events for our group of 20 women. We go off on trips to Benidorm and have afternoon tea, meals out and trips to the Bar etc. Most of us have great fun and get along great, but one woman is consistently taking advantage.
She 'forgets' her purse at restaurants or when we go for a drink; and when it comes to chipping in on anything, she is oddly absent.
She is so blatant about it; on a recent paella and sangria afternoon at my house, she had the nerve to bring takeaway sandwich boxes and took leftovers from my kitchen without asking; she even took a bottle of wine from the kitchen table and said to me, 'my wine wasn't drunk so I am taking it home'; it wasn't
even the bottle she brought. Recently on an outing she stayed in the toilets when the bill was being paid.
I decided to get tough, and on one occasion when I highlighted the fact that she owes money, she paid up begrudgingly, and then made a big announcement that she always pays her debts; she does this in front of the group like I am being the bad guy.
No one else seems to have noticed; yet we have been to others' houses and I've seen her doing the same there with the sandwich boxes. It's not the case that she is poor and cannot afford food or anything like that; her attitude is rude and abrupt and she comes across as entitled, while boasting continually that she is richer than the rest of us.

If this were me, I would get everyone else involved. Speak to the rest of the group and tell them what is happening.
You tell me that you yourself have made up for discrepancies when collecting in money for these expeditions; and, although you have asked her for the money, she always seems to have an excuse.
The only way you can prevent this from happening is to get everyone else on side so that you can join forces to eliminate this problem. You tell me that there is a WhatsApp group; so firstly you should create a chat group without her being included, and tell everyone what is going on.
Keep the discussion professional and discuss a solution that keeps the situation friendly. Make it clear that you have been left out of pocket and need reimbursing. Any confrontation with the lady in question needs to be polite, but firm.
Collect monies in before events and point out that non-payment means exclusion.If this doesn't work, consider it a sign to stop organizing outings with the lady, or to stop covering her portion. Please consider professional counselling to help process all of this.

Spring Wildlife: Expect the Unexpected
As spring develops, the natural environment becomes more active. New growth, warmer temperatures, and longer days encourage movement among wildlife. For drivers, this seasonal change introduces an important and often underestimated hazard.
Animals do not follow road rules, and in spring, their behaviour becomes even less predictable.
YOUNG ANIMALS LACK EXPERIENCE
Spring is a time of new life. Young animals are learning to navigate their surroundings and often do so without awareness of danger. Roads that cut through rural areas or natural habitats become crossing points.
Unlike adult animals, younger ones are more likely to: run suddenly into the road, stop or hesitate unpredictably, follow others without awareness of traffic. These behaviours make them particularly difficult to anticipate.
ONE ANIMAL OFTEN MEANS MORE
Drivers may encounter a single animal crossing and assume the risk has passed. In reality, animals often travel in groups, especially during this time of year. If one animal crosses, it is important to expect another to follow.
DAWN AND DUSK INCREASE RISK
Wildlife activity is highest during early morning and
late evening. These periods also coincide with reduced visibility and changing light conditions, making detection more difficult.
Drivers travelling at these times should reduce speed slightly and increase attention to roadside movement.
RURAL ROADS PRESENT GREATER HAZARDS
Animal-related incidents are more common on rural roads where: vegetation limits visibility, there are fewer barriers, traffic is lighter, encouraging higher speeds, natural habitats are closer to the carriageway. Familiar routes can lead to reduced vigilance, increasing the likelihood of surprise encounters.
REACTING SAFELY
If an animal appears on the road: brake firmly but smoothly, avoid sudden swerving, especially into oncoming traffic, remain aware of additional animals nearby.
Maintaining control of the vehicle is always the priority.
SPEED INFLUENCES OUTCOME

The Inbetweeners at El Plantio
This week, members of the Inbetweeners Golf Society gathered at their home course, El Plantio, for their own slightly less prestigious—but no less fiercely contested—version of the Masters.
With wall-to-wall sunshine and a gentle breeze, conditions were as close to Augusta as you’re likely to get without a transatlantic flight. The course was in excellent shape, although the famously tricky greens caused enough confusion to suggest they may have been designed by someone with a personal vendetta—subtle breaks that would have even given Rory McIlroy a quiet mutter.
As ever, the round delivered a full spectrum of golfing entertainment: moments of brilliance that briefly sparked dreams of a Green Jacket, mixed in with the occasional shot that would’ve been better off left in the bag. Course management ranged from “bold” to “what on earth was he thinking?”, but confidence remained impressively high throughout.
The competitive spirit was alive and well, with every missed putt met by a chorus of encourage-
ment (and entirely supportive laughter). Claims of “that moved at the end” and “I definitely read that right” echoed across the greens with increasing frequency.
By the time the final putts dropped, scorecards had been… interpreted, stories had already grown in the telling, and the post-round analysis was in full swing over well-earned refreshments. While no Green Jacket was slipped onto the winner’s shoulders, the bragging rights—and selective memory— were firmly secured.

Slow, slow, quick, quick, slow but somehow, we forgot about the quick bits on our round today. But the upside was it was a glorious, blue-skyed 26c day and that made it slightly better. We are always welcomed very warmly at this very Spanish course by Antonio and his staff. They look after us very well overall.
The ground staff are doing their best with the busy season (even though it’s actually low season) which was evident on the greens were being sanded to repair and feed as we were playing. Overall, they ran a bit slow, but the course was generally in good nick. Finishing a little later than anticipated, there were some hurried departures to make those important dinner dates.
There was a birthday celebrated with a yummy chocolate cake, a rambunctious birthday chorus and a lovely gift given to the Secretary, Sandra, who celebrated her birthday yesterday and was very grateful for all the effort.

In Group 2 CC Eagles met with Tipsy Cow. Eagles Reg Christopher started the triples well scoring 114 and brother Paul followed with a 180 out on 24. The visitors equalised, Steve Lumb out on D1.
Despite Eagles Paul Christopher scoring 121 in the final triple Cow’s Bob Smith scored 133 and teammate Kevin Swan out on D2 to take the win. Score 1:2. Eagles won the first of the pairs, Carlos Escancaino out on D4 and teammate Monique Edelenbos the 2nd out on 78.
In the final game before the break, despite Paul Christopher scored 2x100,140, it was to no avail, Cow’s Lumb scored 2x100 with teammate John Giggs 2x100 out on 96. Score 3:3.

The moment we’ve all been waiting for: the final league table!
Division 1 with both Tipsy Toad and Firestation B uniquely finishing on qual points and legs, it was determined the league title this season would be shared, with both sides agreement.
In Division 3, unfortunately the postponed game between CK1 Chuggers and CC’s Bee’s could not be mutually rearranged, therefore the win went to CK1 Chuggers
The league table set, now for the do-or-die cup ties. Leeson Street Trotters, who only had a team of 5, met up with Division 1 winners Tipsy Toad Toppers.
The visitors maintained their momentum with another strong performance in the first half winning the first 4 games, which included 140 scores from Pete Spence, John Rodford and Wayne Houson.
Trotters managed to pull back a win in the 5th, Alex Nikolov scoring 100 with teammate Billy Dolling out on 54 and Toppers took the final game before break. Score 1:5. After the break, Toppers proved their dominance winning the first 3 singles which included a 180 from Chelsea Campbell. Trotters Billy Dolling won the 4th and teammate Phil De Lacy took the 5th, score 3:8.

Hub Hyenas played Mind the Gap in the 2nd KO cup game of the night. The visitors dominating the first half winning 5 games, Steve Carrett scoring 140,100 138 and teammate Darren Sanderson 140,180 and Craig McCarthy 119 out on 71. Hub managed to take the 6th game, Jason Blackburn out on D4. Score 1:5.
Following the interval the Gap surged ahead win-
Tipsy Cow, determined to win something this season, having just missed out on Division prizes, upped the ante and had a clean sweep winning all singles ending the night 3:9, leaving Eagles a mountain to climb in their return bout next week. POTM: Paul Christopher - Giggs

Dartagnans Suso Madrid won the 2nd on D3 only for the visitors to win the last, Ralph scoring 100 with teammate Darren Hurcombe scoring 100 out on D1. Score 1:2.
In the pairs Dartagnans Steve Hawkins scored 105 with teammate Jose Cunao out on 61, taking the first pairs despite Steve Mullen scoring the only 180 of the night. Annette Dobson with teammate Sharon Frain won the 3rd, Frain out on 89 (8, T19, D12) swiftly followed with a win from Bryan Livsey and Madrid out on D10. Score 4:2.
Dartagnans Cunao, continued their winning streak after the break taking the first single, scoring 117 out on 4, D2. Mervin Boreick scored 125 in the 2nd game, out on D13 for Chuggers. Score 5:3.
Dartagnans, also having just missed out on Division league prizes, were out to win and took the next 3 games, Madrid out D2, Dobson out D3 and Livsey scoring 121 out D7. Score 8:3.
Despite Frain scoring 100, Ralph took the final game to finish the night 8:4, leaving an uphill battle in next weeks 2nd leg.

RELEGATION LOOMS FOR THADER AS LACK OF CONFIDENCE CONTINUES
Following Sundays' below par performance, Thader have slipped into the Community League relegation zone.
Once again, manager Raul Mora's team selection baffled supporters, for he continues to select certain players who are currently failing to deliver.
Unfortunately, key players such as Serhiy and Javi were serving suspensions, but there were still other options on the bench.
Robin is constantly a target of fans frustrations, and rightly so, for he just does not cut the mustard at this level of football - and probably never will.
It appears that some players body language just isn't right, as heads are dropping, at a time when the manager should be instilling some sort of passion into their game.
The season started so brightly, but with only 2 games remaining, their destiny is no longer in their own hands.
Things looked good early in the game, when from a corner, Lloyd agonisingly headed just wide of the near post.
But, from the very next attack, Tremino was
upended inside the opposing penalty area. From the resultant spot kick, Lloyd made no mistake in making it 1-0 to the hosts.
Fran came close to doubling the advantage on 21 mins, but from a floated free kick to the far post, he failed to keep his shot down.
Midway through the half, the pendulum swung.First off, Iker shot narrowly wide, then on 26 mins, Borja was allowed to run unchallenged, before shooting past Jesus inside the far post, to make it 1-1.
Redovan continued to dominate the remainder of the half, coming close to adding a second goal when Awara's long range effort was only just off target.
It took 10 mins into the 2ndhalf, for Redovan to make their dominance count.
Following a melee inside Thader's goal area, Borja was on hand again to dispatch the loose ball into the back of the net.
A hugely controversial 3rdgoal for the visitors, arrived on 64 mins.
When a Redovan player received the ball out on the right-wing touchline, he was blatantly offside. But, with play allowed to continue, he put in a teasing cross, which once again led to confusion within the home defence, culminating in Lizon side footing home into an open goal.

Thader manager Mora, decided to make changes, far too late, for by then the damage was done.
One of those subs almost reduced arrears, but unfortunately for Pedro Juan, his shot hit the near post, before being cleared to safety. Why he and fellow striker Guille weren't on from the start, only senor Mora can answer!! So, only a victory against rock bottom L'Olleria CF can give Thader a slight hope of surviving the drop into Preferente league football.

COUNTRY BOWLS CLUB - Peter Dix
As we had no League games this week a fun game of Bonanza 1234 drawn pairs was organised by our social secretary Della Wailes on Saturday.
lt is with deep regret that we announce the recent passing of Dave Rollinson, a very popular member of the Thursday Darts League and pretty mean with his Tungstens, Dave frequented and enhanced the teams from The Gap, Hub and C.C.'s. l spoke to him as recently as February whilst he was in the UK, upgrading an earlier property purchase and very upbeat about the project too.
His illness taking second place to how the darts scene was progressing in Spain, particularly questions about his beloved, aforementioned, teams.
Known to many as "Walking Dave", a two-mile trek to play, and the reverse at midnight, was part and parcel of playing "arrows", despite warnings of his welfare in the early hours.
Former team mate Chelsea Campbell reminded me of his early pre match practice sessions and not infrequent postmatch victory "shots".
A thoroughly nice gentleman sadly no longer with us.

32 players turned out and the pairs were drawn out on the day. A great deal of friendly banter was had on a great morning for bowls playing 3 sets of 6 ends, the eventual winners were Keith and Nikki.
This week Champion of Champions was played at Greenlands giving all our champions a chance to play against all the other club champions of the LLB.
We put in a good show competing against some of the best in Spain, most notable the fours of Lynn and Eric Bishop, Peter Whitehall and Tom Macdonald made the semi-final. Kevin Storey battled his way through the singles, twice coming back with opposition on 20 shots to win the match and reach the final which is on Sunday against Peter Bonsor.
Not being satisfied with that, together with Steve Wailes he sailed through to the final of the men’s pairs.
It was a gripping game to watch, with the Montemar guys getting on top, then ours pegging back to take the game to an extra end, Sadly they lost the extra end after Kevin put the jack in the ditch but could not then draw the shot.

SOFIIA PORUSHCHENKO CROWNED NATIONAL RHYTHMIC CHAMPION
Sofiia Porushchenko, a rising star from the Jennifer Colino Rhythmic Gymnastics Club, was crowned Spain’s National Base Individual Champion in the Alevin 2015 category on April 15 at the championships held in Oviedo, Asturias. Delivering a stunning hoop routine, Sofiia impressed judges and spectators alike with her precision, elegance and confidence on the floor, earning a standing ovation for her performance.
Making her debut at this level, her club praised her dedication, consistency and commitment, as well as the efforts of the coaching team behind her success. The victory marks a major milestone, confirming Sofiia as one of Spain’s most promising young rhythmic gymnasts.
