WELCOME TO WINCHESTER! The University of Winchester and Winchester Students’ Union have created this Welcome Guide to help you make the most of your first few days and weeks with us and to help you kick start your university journey. WHAT IS WELCOME WEEK? Over 1500 new students will be joining us in September 2025 to begin their studies. Some students will be moving into our University Managed Housing over one of our Arrivals Weekends, whereas others will join later in their Welcome Week.
MAP
During this time, all students will be invited to complete their in-person checks for enrolment and to collect their University card, which is needed to access the library and other specialist spaces on campus, as well for printing and photocopying. Students are also expected to attend their Faculty Welcome and Uni Essentials talk and Programme Induction sessions during their Welcome Week. These sessions provide key information about university life and study and are an opportunity for students to meet their academic team and course mates. Please check My Record for details of your enrolment and Welcome Week schedule. There will also be an opportunity to get involved in a wide-range of activities and events as part of our enrichment programme which will run from Saturday 20 – Saturday 27 September. Check out the inside of this booklet to see over 50+ events listed on the Welcome Week wall planner.
