Missing pilot held by Venezuela after ‘drug flight’ crash in Randy Butler’s stolen plane By TANYA SMITHCARTWRIGHT tsmith-cartwright@ tribunemedia.net THE Royal Bahamas Police Force has confirmed missing pilot Oran Munroe is in police custody in Venezuela and being questioned for alleged drug trafficking. Munroe, a former employee of the now nonoperational Sky Bahamas, was last seen on July 24, according to a Royal Bahamas Police Force missing person bulletin which was

issued on Saturday. The RBPF bulletin asked anyone who saw Munroe to contact the Criminal Investigations Department. Since then, social media has been buzzing with claims of sightings of 33-year-old Munroe in Abaco. However, according to Chief Superintendent Roberto Goodman, officer in charge of the Drug Enforcement Unit, Munroe’s plane crashed in Venezuela. SEE PAGE THREE

ATTORNEY Wayne Munroe, QC, the Progressive Liberal Party’s candidate for Freetown in the next general election, has been hospitalised with COVID-19.

TRIBUTES CONTINUE FOR A.D. HANNA By EARYEL BOWLEG & DENISE MAYCOCK Tribune Staff Reporters TRIBUTES continued to pour in yesterday from both sides of the political divide following the death of former Governor General and Deputy Prime Minister Arthur Dion Hanna. Former Governor General Sir Arthur A Foulkes said Mr Hanna’s death at 93 brought to a close a life spent in devoted service.

VIRGIN IN RETURN OF FLIGHTS TO HEATHROW

British Airways has also confirmed it is now operating three times a week to Nassau. In a press statement, Virgin Atlantic explained the new services aim to respond to the demand from travellers looking to “swap their staycations for vacations in the vibrant city of London or to visit friends and family in the UK”. DOCTOR’S HOSPITAL EXPANDS TESTING

DOCTOR’S Hospital is aiming to expand its COVID-19 testing sites to southern New Providence after its newly-opened British Colonial Hilton location hit a “3,000 run rate within the first week”. Dennis Deveaux, the BISX-listed healthcare provider’s chief financial officer, told Tribune Business that it is also seeking to take its PCR and rapid antigen services to other Bahamian islands as the total number of tests it has performed to-date rapidly approaches the 500,000 mark.
