The Town Hall was created by suffragists, who opened the doors in 1921 to everybody in this city--to learn, to share ideas, and to express themselves. There were no gender barriers, no racial barriers, no religious barriers. Everybody was welcomed to The Town Hall--to speak, to listen, and to perform. Those principles of inclusiveness are what made Town Hall’s landmark cultural and artistic history. The founding mothers of Town Hall weren’t just on the right side of history, they made history because they were on the right side of humanity.
In honor of those principles, and of serving the well-being of all New Yorkers, The Town Hall endeavors to present a stimulating season of arts and expression for all, a year of events that connects and celebrates all peoples and communities of New York City. With an open door to all its citizenry and the genuine embodiment of a “town hall,” this national historic landmark venue continues to be a welcome home of expression, education, and exploration for all New Yorkers, with a season of events as diverse as the city it serves.

Less mortifying than the talent shows of high schools past, TAC Annual Talent Show is where your favorite artists perform in the name of giving back to LGBTQ youth. This year’s Talent Show celebrates five years of Ally Coalition—that’s five years of fighting for equality, pushing for representation, and bringing issues like youth homelessness to the forefront.
