The Lantern Tour
The Lantern Tour brings together art and advocacy to stand with families seeking safety at the U.S. border and the nightmare that has become their existence. From separating families to detaining them to making it harder for people to claim asylum, migrant and refugee families – including children – are under attack by the trump administration. the Women’s refugee Commission is at the front lines – at the border and in detention centers – to protect the rights and lives of women and children fleeing danger and crisis. the concerts will feature an evening of acoustic music by legends in the music industry that will allow us all to unite our voices in song and solidarity. Proceeds will go to benefit the Women’s refugee Commission

the Women’s refugee Commission improves the lives and protects the rights of women, children and youth displaced by conflict and crisis. We research their needs, identify solutions and advocate for programs and policies to strengthen their resilience and drive change in humanitarian practice. since our founding in 1989, we have been a leading expert on the needs of refugee women and children, and the policies that can protect and empower them.
WrC advocates for the rights and protections of women and girls, including families seeking safety at the U.s. border. We’re committed to ending family separation and detention and to advancing the human rights of asylum seeking women and children. WrC believes that all humans have basic human rights and that, for families at the southern border, those rights are being violated. We are on the frontlines to end separation, detention, and the attacks against families fleeing danger and violence in their home countries.

TOUR THE HISTORIC TOWN HALL
Town Hall has played an integral part in the electrifying cultural fabric of New York City for more than 90 years. A group of suffragists’ fight for the 19th Amendment led them to build a meeting space to educate people on the important issues of the day. during its construction, the 19th Amendment was passed, and on January 12, 1921 the town Hall opened its doors and took on a double meaning: as a symbol of the victory sought by its founders, and as a spark for a new, more optimistic climate. In 1921, German composer richard strauss performed a series of concerts that cemented the Hall’s reputation as an ideal venue for musical performances. since, town Hall has been home to countless musical milestones: the Us debuts of strauss, and Isaac stern; Marian Anderson’s first New York recital; in 1945, dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker introduced bebop to the world; Bob dylan’s first major concert in ‘63; and much much more.
