We are delighted you have joined us for the second installment of Broadway @ The Town Hall . We are excited to host s eth and Kelli and are looking forward to a fun and amazing show. Jeremy Jordan will join s eth on March 11th.
You might not know that t he town h all was envisioned as a meeting house for all New Yorkers. a public forum for the free discussion of political and civic matters, where all sides would have equal privileges and where any law-abiding person could voice their opinion on the affairs of the day.
When they opened the hall, they quickly realized that the acoustics they had designed for the human voice was also perfect for music performances.
t his legacy lives on today.
i n 2021, town Hall will celebrate our Centennial a nniversary. a s a fitting tribute to our founders, our part in electrifying the cultural fabric of New York, and our future; t he town h all Foundation is embarking on a campaign to envision the 21st Century town h all. We are taking this opportunity to gather a group of civic minded leaders and individuals to propel the town h all into its second century.

Kelli o ’ h ara recently received her first e mmy award nomination for o utstanding a ctress i n a s hort Form Comedy of d rama s eries for her portrayal of Katie Bonner in the hit web series The Accidental Wolf . o n Broadway, Kelli’s portrayal of a nna l eonowens in the critically acclaimed revival of The King and I garnered her the 2015 tony award for Best l eading a ctress in a Musical, along with Grammy, d rama l eague and o uter Critics nominations. s he then reprised her tony Winning role while making her West e nd debut this past summer for which The Times hailed her as “Broadway musical’s undisputed queen” adding “Kelli o ’ h ara does not just play a nna, she owns the part”. Kelli was also nominated for the tony award, d rama d esk award, and o uter Critics Circle award for her Broadway performances in The Bridges of Madison County , Nice Work If You Can Get It , South Pacific , The Pajama Game , and was nominated for the tony and d rama d esk award for her leading role in The Light in the Piazza . s he has also starred on Broadway in Sweet Smell of Success , Follies , Dracula , and Jekyll & Hyde h er r egional and o ff Broadway credits include Far From Heaven at Playwrights h orizons and W t F, King Lear at the Public t heater, Bells Are Ringing at City Center e ncores, Sunday in the Park with George for r eprise, and My Life With Albertine at Playwrights h orizons.

s eth r udetsky is the afternoon host on s irius/XM s atellite r adio’s On Broadway as well as the host of s eth s peaks on s irius/XM s tars. a s an author, he penned My Awesome/ Awful Popularity Plan and the sequel The Rise And Fall Of A Theater Geek ( r andom h ouse) as well as three volumes of Seth’s Broadway Diary featuring inside scoop and hilarious stories from all of the stars he’s worked with. h e co-wrote and co-starred in Disaster! ( NY TIMES “critics pick”) which also premiered to rave reviews in l ondon. i n June 2016, he and his husband, James Wesley, co-produced a recording of What The World Needs Now with stars like i dina Menzel, l in-Manuel Miranda, Carole King, a udra Mc d onald which went to number one on i tunes and raised more than $100,000 for the o rlando shooting victims (and is still raising money. Mark Cortale co-produced the new musical Midnight at the Never Get by Mark s onnenblick, at the York t heatre this past fall. h e produced Deconstructing Patti on Broadway last s eptember at the Nederlander t heatre with Broadway Cares/ e quity Fights aids , starring Patti l uPone and s eth r udetsky. h e created the Broadway @ concert series in 2011 at t he a rt h ouse in Provincetown where he serves as Producing a rtistic d irector. t he series, featuring s eth r udetsky as music director and host, had its eighth season this past summer and guest artists over the years have included Patti l uPone, a udra Mc d onald, s utton Foster, Megan Mulllally, Christine e bersole, and Jessie Mueller. t he Broadway @ series also premiered in 2013 in New o rleans, in a ustralia ( s ydney & Melbourne) with Megan Mullally, and in l ondon’s West e nd with Patti l uPone at the l eicester s quare t heatre. t he series has since traveled to cities that include Chicago @ t he s teppenwolf, Beverly h ills @ t he Wallis, Fort l auderdale @ t he Parker Playhouse, s an Francisco @ t he h erbst t heater and s cottsdale @ s cottsdale Center for the a rts. i n the 2018-2019 season, the series launched in Boston @ t he h untington with Chita r ivera and continues later this month with Christine e bersole. T o U r THE HISTORIC TOWN HALL
town Hall has played an integral part in the electrifying cultural fabric of new york City for more than 90 years. a group of suffragists’ fight for the 19th amendment led them to build a meeting space to educate people on the important issues of the day. during its construction, the 19th amendment was passed, and on January 12, 1921 the town hall opened its doors and took on a double meaning: as a symbol of the victory sought by its founders, and as a spark for a new, more optimistic climate. in 1921, German composer richard strauss performed a series of concerts that cemented the hall’s reputation as an ideal venue for musical performances. since, town hall has been home to countless musical milestones: the us debuts of strauss, and isaac stern; Marian anderson’s first New York recital; in 1945, dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker introduced bebop to the world; Bob dylan’s first major concert in ‘63; and much much more.
