DID You KNOW?
Monthly friendly advice for our Reunion neighbors about covenants issues & guidelines
This is the third issue of “Did You Know?� and the Covenants Committee hopes that some of the information outlined to the residents proves helpful. In addition to sending links to important documents, we have defined issues that pertain to: Parking, Signs, Trashcans, Fencing, Lawn and Shrub Care, and Mailboxes. Please refer to previous articles (September and October) for a review, or contact Angela if you have misplaced your copy. The following is to be reviewed this month: Basketball Goals: 1) A form is not required to be submitted if ALL of the following requirements are met: (i) goal backboard is perpendicular to primary street; (ii) backboard is white, beige, clear or light gray; (iii) post is painted black; and (iv) written approval of any neighbor who may be impacted by play is obtained. 2) If freestanding or portable, one rectangular guideline surrounding the hoop is permissible. Goals may not be attached to the house. Portable goals may not be maintained for periods of more than 24 hours in the street or at the curb. House Painting: If you are changing the paint color of your house you need to know that ALL paint colors must be prior approved by the Advisory Committee, and the color must also be approved by your immediate neighbors - those that touch their border. This pertains to the base color and all trim, shutters, doors, decking, and railing. For complete details go to the Reunion Home Page (Reunion.com) and you will find a complete list of approved paint colors and instructions for modifications. If you are painting your house all the same colors you do not need advisory approval.
As a reminder: We all must do our part to keep our neighborhood, and our investment, in the best condition and in compliance with the Guidelines of Covenants, be you own or rent.

REUNION EXPRESSES APPRECIATION TO HALL COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT DEPUTIES Every day law enforcement across the country put their lives on the line to protect us from the bad guys. It is a sad commentary on the state of affairs in the US today, but with ever increasing frequency these brave men and women are under attack as they keep us safe.

On behalf of all the residents of Reunion Country Club, The Reunion Neighborhood Watch Committee (RNWC) wanted the personnel of the Hall County Sheriff ’s Department’s South Hall Precinct to know that we appreciate them for putting their lives in danger to protect us. The RNWC prepared an appreciation card and worked with the owners of Papa Jack’s to provide gift certificates to Papa Jack’s for every person stationed at the South Hall Precinct (37 deputies and support staff ) plus Deputy Mike Cooper who patrols Reunion in the summer months, and the Hall County Neighborhood Watch Coordinator Deputy Chad Mann. On September 14th and 21st representatives of the RNWC presented the cards signed by all members of the RNWC and the gift certificates to Sheriff Couch and Deputies Chuck Poteet, Mike Cooper and Chad Mann.

He looks too much like the wolf. He reminds them that danger lurks out there, just beyond the relative safety of the fence. The wolf also hates the dog. He knows that it is the dog that stands between him and his prey. It is because of the dog that he is lean. The dog is the reason the wolf is forced to stalk the darkness. The dog knows these facts. Undeterred, he stands watch, ever ready to do battle. Despite that he is an unwelcome guest in their midst, the dog is ready, at a moment’s notice, to give his life in defense of his flock. It is simply who he is. November 2016

Empty NESTERS CORNER
EMPTY NESTERS’ Enjoy Patriotic “Picnic” It was Independence Day in September for 48 members of the Reunion Country Club Empty Nesters group as they gathered on the evening of September 17th to enjoy barbequed brisket and grilled brats along with their usual monthly fellowship. With The Meeting House tables adorned with miniature American flags and other patriotic touches, the Empty Nester group replicated an old fashioned Fourth of July picnic (albeit indoors). Many thanks go to Barbara and George Hasaka for hosting the event and for preparing the barbeque and brats that made up the main course of the night. Thanks also to all who contributed to the event with side dishes of baked beans, potato salad and other “picnic” goodies and to those who provided appetizers and desserts. After enjoying social time and the wonderful meal, the group was
entertained by Michael Giel as he led them in a spiritedly competitive round of Name That Tune. Michael played snippets of various songs, many of them Oldie Goldies, and the six person teams were challenged with who could correctly identify the most songs presented. In a very close contest, the team of The Songbirds (consisting of Gail & Ted Sawyer, Deb and Joe Wenig and Rebecca Hagler emerged victorious and were awarded commemorative CD discs as their prizes. Prospective members are invited to come to an event, free of charge, to see if there is an interest in joining. The membership is more than just a party club.
