HOPE IN ACTION

A Catalyst of Hope that transforms lives, homes, and communities.

Sharing Hope through community mobilization. OUR VALUES

Compassionate, Honoring, Relational, Integrity, Servant-hearted, and Transformational.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dear Catalysts of Hope,

2025 will be remembered as a year of tension and turbulence but also tremendous faithfulness. Our nation experienced cultural divisions that reached new heights. The government shut down and SNAP benefit reductions sent shockwaves through communities already on the edge. Families who were barely making it suddenly found themselves in crisis. The phone calls increased. The lines at New Hope Center grew longer.

Yet in the midst of the storm, God showed up. You showed up. This year, we served more than double the number of neighbors we typically do. Not because we had double the staff or budget, but because we have a God who multiplies loaves and fishes, and a community that refuses to turn away when people are hurting.

2025 was also our first full year in our brand-new Home for Hope building. What a blessing! After years of borrowed and temporary spaces, we now have a permanent home designed specifically for our mission. This building is a tangible answer to prayer. It’s proof that God can do immeasurably more than we think or imagine.

But we’re not just serving more people, we’re serving them in deeper ways. Our investment in case management is allowing us to walk alongside neighbors more comprehensively, moving them from Rescue to Recovery to Restoration. We’re building pathways out of poverty, not just providing temporary relief.

None of this would be possible without you, our faithful donors, tireless volunteers, and dedicated community partners. When the need doubled, you didn’t hesitate. You gave more generously, volunteered more hours, and prayed more fervently.

To our donors: your financial support kept Hope alive for thousands of families. To our volunteers: you are the heart and soul of this ministry. Over 9,000 of you served this year, making the impossible possible.

Most of all, I thank God. When everything seemed stacked against us, He provided exactly what we needed, exactly when we needed it.

As I look toward the future, I see more opportunities to serve, more lives to transform, more pathways to build. The challenges will persist, but so will we because we serve a faithful God and we’re surrounded by a community that embodies His love in action.

Thank you for believing that every person deserves dignity, opportunity, and a pathway forward. Together, we will continue sharing Hope through community mobilization. Together, we will build pathways out of poverty. Together, we prove that even in turbulent times, love wins.

With deep gratitude and unwavering Hope,

COMMUNITY POWERED REVITALIZATION

For nearly two decades, Richard and Barbara have lived in their home, a place rooted in family, perseverance, and love. It is where they built their life together after moving closer to extended family, where memories were made, and where they continue to care for what matters most to them: their two adult sons with special needs.

For most of their lives, Richard and Barbara were self-reliant. Richard worked for years building airplanes before transitioning to the hotel industry, where he spent more than two decades working long hours to support his family. They were used to solving problems on their own, fixing what needed fixing, and pressing forward without complaint. But as the years passed, physical limitations and aging began to change what was possible.

The exterior of their home slowly deteriorated. Storm damage left holes in the siding. Wood began to rot. Soft, unstable ground around the house created a serious fall risk. What once felt manageable became overwhelming. “We were always able to do a lot for ourselves,” Richard explained. “But now, we just can’t do what we used to do.”

RESTORING MORE THAN A HOME

COMMUNITY POWERED REVITALIZATION HELPED ONE FAMILY REBUILD SAFETY, STABILITY, AND HOPE FOR THE YEARS AHEAD.

The need went beyond appearance. For Richard and Barbara, maintaining their home is deeply tied to their hopes for the future, especially for their sons. Their greatest desire is that when they are no longer able to provide daily care, their sons can remain in the home they know and love, rather than being forced into an unfamiliar environment. “This is their home,” Richard said. “We want it in a position where someone can come in and help them…without them having to go somewhere else.”

Applying for help did not come easily. When Richard and Barbara filled out the application for 6 Stones’ Community Powered Revitalization (CPR) program, they did so without expectation. “We thought we’d just fill it out and see,” Barbara shared. “We never thought we’d get anything.” They assumed, at most, they might receive a phone call or a small repair. What happened instead took them completely by surprise.

When they were selected as part of CPR’s milestone home projects, the news was almost too much to absorb. “I’m still in shock,” Barbara said. “We never expected this.” Richard echoed the same disbelief. “I never realized what a big deal it was,” he said. “I was lost for words.”

Soon, volunteers arrived, bringing not only tools and expertise, but compassion, dignity, and respect. The work was extensive. Damaged siding was stripped down to solid cedar. Rotted wood was replaced. Fascia boards were repaired. Safety hazards around the home were addressed with care and precision. The team didn’t cut corners; they treated the home as if it were their own.

For Richard, accepting help required humility. As a veteran and lifelong worker, it was unfamiliar territory. But what he encountered instead was encouragement and partnership. He admits he struggles to express gratitude out loud, but shared simply, “They don’t have a clue how grateful I am.”

As the work progressed, the transformation became clear, not just to Richard and Barbara, but to the entire neighborhood. The home no longer stood out for its damage, but for its renewal. “It’s going to look better than the rest of the houses,” Barbara said with a smile. For Richard, seeing the care invested into their home brought renewed pride and peace of mind.

Yet the true impact of CPR runs deeper than fresh siding or improved safety. It is about restoring Hope. It is about reminding families that they are not forgotten, that their sacrifices matter, and that their community is willing to stand beside them in seasons of vulnerability.

For Richard and Barbara, CPR gave them more than a repaired home, it gave them confidence in the future. Confidence that their sons can remain in a familiar place. Confidence that their home is once again a safe foundation. Confidence that when life became heavy, their community showed up.

“I do my best to do the right thing for my family,” Richard said. “Always have.” Through the Community Powered Revitalization program, 6 Stones had the privilege of doing the same, by walking alongside a family who has spent a lifetime caring for others, and ensuring their home remains a place of dignity, safety, and hope for years to come.

“THIS IS THEIR HOME. WE WANT IT IN A POSITION WHERE SOMEONE CAN COME IN AND HELP THEM,WITHOUT THEM HAVING TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.”RICHARD
