We’re proud to announce the launch of Guided by Purpose: The Campaign for Theta Phi Alpha’s Future, a campaign dedicated to supporting the heart of our fraternity. Theta Phi Alpha aims to create an experience for our members to live their individual truths, grow their self awareness, and cultivate lifelong friendships
For generations, Theta Phi Alpha has provided a home away from home, a place of belonging where members grow into confident leaders, form lifelong bonds, and live out our values of Justice, Friendship, Truth. This campaign is about ensuring that legacy continues. With your help, we can invest in opportunities that enrich our membership experience for collegians and alumnae alike. This campaign’s purpose is to strengthen every stage of the membership experience - from leadership development and sisterhood events to academic support, national programming, and beyond

From humble beginnings, the loyal and unwavering support of alumnae for Theta Phi Alpha’s first collegians brought to bear a fraternity that has withstood trials and tribulations both from outside our circle and within.
Our Founders relied on the kindness of patronesses members of the local community who provided aid to the new chapter The collegians accepted that support and, in turn, extended the opportunity of sisterhood to others, growing the membership and deepening the connection to Theta Phi Alpha.

From our earliest days at the University of Michigan in 1912, providing a “home away from home” for new members, to our network of nearly 50 active chapters and 41,000 lifetime initiates, our mission has remained steadfast

Abbie Stevens, New Member Educator Chi, Creighton University “The new national training modules significantly enhance my success as a New Member Educator by providing a standardized and efficient framework for our program. With our biggest class of 61 new members, these modules ensure consistency, meaning every new member receives the exact, up-to-date, and correct information regarding Theta Phi Alpha's policies, values, and expectations. This standardization significantly reduced my workload by eliminating the need to continually create or source core educational materials. Instead, I dedicated my time to leading impact, personal discussions, class bonding events, and focusing on the individual growth and needs of the new members. Furthermore, the content within these modules often includes best practices in education and leadership, serving as a professional development tool for me as the New Member Educator.”

A dedicated member and leader of Theta Phi Alpha, Cristin served on the Grand Council as National Treasurer from 2018 to 2022, previously held the role of National Assistant Treasurer, and currently serves as President of the New Orleans Alumnae Association
Cristin Brown is the Chief Financial Officer at Headlands Capital, where she oversees the firm’s accounting, finance, and tax functions Cristin began her career at Deloitte auditing private equity funds and has more than 25 years of experience, including senior leadership roles, in accounting, finance, auditing, tax, and operations

“Since my initiation into the Fraternity at the 1966 National Convention, I was mentored by an elite team of sisters from the Chicago area. Each of them had been national officers and saw in me a future national officer.
The names of these sisters are legendary – Betty McDaniel, Mary De Lamar, Jean Cusack, Gloria Neises, and Jean Yosepian They taught me how to be a leader, how to deal with rejection, and how to best serve our chapters. Without their guidance, I wouldn’t have immersed myself in the life of Theta Phi Alpha
In true Theta Phi fashion, one of my early mentors later became a dear lifelong friend – Jean Yosepian. She served as the Director of the
Founders' Foundation (later renamed the Theta Phi Alpha Foundation) for many years, and her energy and devotion led to a significant rise in Foundation giving. Like myself, Jean was born in Illinois. She died in Arizona, just a few miles from where I live For us, the bonds of our sisterhood truly were lifelong

“For many years, the national Theta Phi Alpha scholarship helped me stay financially afloat so I could focus on my studies and finish my graduate degrees The scholarship also covered my doctoral internship tuition credits when I was no longer eligible for graduate school funding within my institution. As a first-generation student, being a multi-year recipient of Theta Phi Alpha Foundation scholarships was affirming. I was reminded that despite the financial barriers of graduate school, there were sisters and programs committed to see historically excluded women like me thrive and achieve the highest levels of education Thank you for investing in me and believing in my purpose of becoming a bilingual licensed psychologist.”
