I did it! A massive Thank You to all those who grabbed a copy of the first edition magazine October 2019. Your support was very much appreciated. We are now into our second edition of The Sustainable Traveller magazine and excited to bring you even more ways to be sustainable when travelling. So let's talk bikes! Bike riding is one of my favourite things to do and I was elated (and determined) to finally teach my children to ride a bike. And while they were scooting and learning to balance on two wheels, I was researching some awesome bike tour companies and itineraries I just had to share with you. The freedom to explore on 2 wheels, powered by sheer determination and human strength, is such a cool way to travel and it has minimal carbon output too. Plus it's seriously fun! It's true when they say 'biking is the new golfing' and it caters for everyone, from families to single travellers, friends and couples. I really hope you will feel inspired with our bike tour guide for your next trip away. Mother Nature Thanks You

A TRIP ON TWO WHEELS

I vividly remember the day I bought my first bike. Years later, I learned how heavy and clunky I was so excited! I was around 16 at the time and I had saved a few hundred dollars from working casual shifts after school. I remember feeling pumped as I headed to my local bike store to pick out the bike of my dreams. A silver ‘Maverick' wannabe mountain bike, and it looked cool! I LOVED THAT BIKE AND RODE IT EVERYWHERE!
Zipping down to my local library with my back pack of books, water bottle in place and looking the part with my cap firmly placed under my helmet. I would even take it on the train to Uni and into town, feeling so adventurous.
my Maverick was, but I loved it nonetheless. I rode that bike for a few years and kept it for almost 20 years stored in the garage. I later sold it for $30, feeling content it was going to a good home and another person planing to use it to commute to work. A few years later with more dollars in my pocket, I upgraded to an entry level matt black Scott bike with full determination to become a mountain bike rider. I did one jump off a rock, fell and sadly my Scott bike laid dormant in the garage for years. BUT I’M PLEASED TO SAY THE BIKE IS BACK!
