WHO ARE WE? FOUNDED IN 1895, The Sunflower is the primary independent, student-run news source for Wichita State University and the surrounding community.
Throughout the school year, we print twice a week on Monday and Thursday with three special sections each semester. We print 5,000 newspapers biweekly to be picked up at 58 spots on and around campus. Since we’ve updated our website in 2016, we have a daily online read of about 1,700. Our social media has also grown in the past year with 5,000 followers on Facebook and 2,500 followers on Twitter.

CONDITIONS ADVERTISING POLICIES:
The Sunflower reserves the right to reject any advertisement. Advertisements that discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, creed, color, disability, sexual orientation or gender will not be accepted. The advertiser and/or advertising agency assumes liability for all content (including text and illustrations) of advertisements printed in the Sunflower and also assumes any claims made against the Sunflower. The Sunflower reserves the right to revise its rates or any other conditions in the media kit at any time. The Sunflower does not grant refunds for any classified ad. The Sunflower reserves the right to add a border to any ad or to alter the content of the ad in order to uphold the graphical integrity of the paper. The Sunflower reserves the right to reject any advertisement that does not comply with the policies and judgment of the newspaper staff. By placing an advertising order, the advertiser agrees to, and certifies conformity with, Sunflower policies and terms. The Sunflower will not be liable for printed quality or errors by Hutchinson News. For any advertisement to be considered for any amount of refund, the Advertising Manager must be notified within five week days after publication of the advertisement. The Sunflower’s liability will not exceed the cost of the ad in which the error occurred. Credit will only be applied toward the first incorrect insertion. If the client approves an ad’s copy before publications, minor spelling and/or typographic errors will not qualify for a make good ad. All advertising must be paid for in advance unless the advertiser has completed a credit application and credit has been approved. No credit can be extended to any drinking establishments or political advertiser on or off campus. Bills, statements and proof of publication will be mailed at the beginning

of each month. Payments 30 days overdue from the original billing date are subject to 1.5% finance charge compounded monthly. Advertisers with delinquent debt must pay balance before any further ads can be run in the Sunflower. Checks should be made payable to: The Sunflower. Payments by credit can be made at www.thesunflower.com under the advertise link on the bottom of the page. The Sunflower accepts Master Card, Visa, Discover and American Express. No refunds will be given on ads.
ELECTRONIC FILE REQUIREMENTS:
Ads must be sent as a PDF or JPEG. The Sunflower will accept ads on a CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, & Flash Drives. All classified ads should be emailed to sales@ thesunflower.com. All display ads should be emailed to the appropriate advertising representative. When in doubt, email ads to sales@thesunflower.com.
DESIGN SERVICES:
Design services for ads placed in The Sunflower require a charge of $25 per ad and will be handled by The Sunflower design department. Proofs will be delivered by a Sunflower advertising representative to the client for proofreading. All ads must be approved two business days prior to publication by 4:00 p.m.
ADVERTISING POLICY:
