Written by Kathryn Miller hen I compare my personal style from freshman to senior year, I realize my wardrobe has evolved immensely. I traded T-shirts for breezy blouses and athletic wear for a pair of leggings and boots. There was a point in time where I figured out that my style needed to grow up, even though parts of me were still freshman-year Kathryn such late-night Taco Bell runs and the over-excitement of fall coffee drinks. Over time, my style received a modern overhaul. Soon enough I would need clothes for job interviews, late nights with friends and outfits to slip on for a quick trip to the grocery store. This fall, The Student Printz wanted to give the student body something different—a reason to love fashion and not turn away from it— and incorporate it into your every day style. We have always done women’s fashion, but we have now introduced the first evermen’s guide to college fashion.

Models Women:
We styled men with versatility and exceptional charm with funky bow ties, striking socks and comfy sweaters. This edition has been one of my favorites because it is simply a guide to dressing well for college students and seeing how easy it can be to have a personal style. Having a great style does not have to be hard and complex as that chemistry exam you just studied six hours for. Whether you are heading to class, working at an office for an internship or gussying up for a night out with that special someone, there are outfit ideas for every affair. We also included a Lazy Laundry Guide (Pg. 11) for those whom think clothing care is a foreign language. And when you find yourself stumped with what to pair with what, the color wheel offers endless options for creating outfits (Pg. 10). So step outside of your comfort zone and look toward the future, where a more grown-up version of you is just around the corner.

A simple way to get dressed in the morning is to pair one item with several different outfits. But there is no need to worry about getting in a fashion bind. Wardrobe essentials - pieces that go with almost everything in your closet - are the solution. A chambray button down and a pair of black tights can take you through many stressful school days, while still looking put-together and college chic.

Kapriatta works a denim button-up with bohemian flair. Here, she wears the denim-on-denim look with a light-washed denim and a dark skinny jean. The juxataposition creates a classic all-American look.

Scarves add a classic touch to any outfit and can be tied in a variety of ways. Shake up your look and try out these versatile scarf ideas this winter. Even if you are feeling under the weather, this is a stylish option for an effortless everyday look.
How to tie a scarF

Shorts should only be worn in the summer.
Shorts are versatile in fall and one can wear them over tights with a long sweater and boots. Layering is key with shorts.
Tall women should stay away from high heels. Nothing is wrong with adding a little height to a tall frame. Heels exuberate confidence wherever you go. Flaunt what you have.
Avoid white after Labor Day. Winter white is a color for a specific reason. Wear sparingly, but winter white trousers, peacoats and blouses are very acceptable for chilly months.
You can’t wear black with other neutrals. Black looks very chic when paired with colors such a navy blue and brown. Keep other colors subtle and accessorize with silver or gold jewelry.
Denim on denim is a huge no-no. Doubling denim is a modern and sophisticated look to the average everyday wear. Pair different washes together such a pair of dark skinny jeans and lightwashed button-down.

-Woolite said to turn clothes inside out to protect the fibers against damage during their wash.
DRY CLEAN
Limit drying if possible: -Avoid drying every peice of clothing. WomensDay said the tumbling motion of the dryer causes friction between clothing. And sometimes this causes unfortunate pilling. -Try hanging garments on a drying rack or use a shower rod or bathroom hooks. -If you do decide to dry items, use the gentle setting and set the timer for 30 minutes. Check clothes periodically.
-Synethic fibers like polyester and nylon are better quality and can endure recurring laundering, according to WomensDay.
BLEACH
Wash the correct way: -Warm setting: every day clothes (T-shirts, khakis, sweatshirts) -Cold setting: delicates (lingerie, lace, sheer fabrics) and jeans -Hot setting: cotton underwear, undershirts, towels and workout clothe NOTE: Before washing, make sure to close zippers and button buttons so they do not snag on other clothing. For delicate clothing, turn them inside out and place in a delicate laundry bag.
Make sure to read the fine print: -Care instructions for certain materials are really important to washing one’s clothes correctly and making them last for years to come. -A tip from WomensDay: if a garment reads “dry-clean recommend” or “dry-clean,” one can handwash the garment without ruining it.
