UGITIVE pastor Apollo Quiboloy on Sunday surrendered to the chief of military intelligence instead of police authorities, who for over two weeks, have been searching for him inside the 30-hectare Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) compound in Davao City. The televangelist handed himself over to Maj. Gen. Edmundo Peralta, chief of the Intelligence Service Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP) and was immediately put aboard a government plane and whisked off to Manila. China ships Solons issue ultimatum for Guo to reveal the truth about POGOs By Macon Ramos-Araneta back at WPS and Rio N. Araja — US monitor CHINA'S ships have returned to the West Philippines Sea (WPS) shortly after it sought refuge from the onslaught of severe tropical storm Enteng last week, a maritime security expert said on Sunday. Ray Powell, Director of Sealight and a WPS monitor, indicated on X that Automatic Identification System (AIS) tracking detected at least six Qiong Sansha Yu maritime militia ships and one coast guard vessel moving from Panganiban Reef (Mischief Reef) to Bajo de Masinloc (Scarborough Shoal) over the weekend. All the said ships were traveling with a speed of 9-10 knots, according to Powell. Prior to the typhoon, a record 203 Chinese ships were recorded in the WPS from August 27 to September 2—marking the highest concentration of vessels in the area this year. More than a quarter of these ships were stationed at Escoda Shoal, which is becoming a new hotspot between Manila and Beijing. Next page

SOME 10,483 examinees showed up on the first day of 2024 Bar Examinations conducted in several local testing centers across the country, the Supreme Court (SC) said on Sunday. The High Tribunal had an initial pool of 12,246 registrants for this year’s digitalized examinations chaired by SC Associate Justice Mario V. Lopez. “During the application period, many prospective examinees were still completing their final year of law school or refresher

courses. Unfortunately, some did not graduate and/or encountered unforeseen circumstances that led to withdrawals,” he said. Lopez shared among the examinees this year were 155 senior citizens, with the oldest at 78 years old, as well as 313 examinees with special needs.
