THE Office of the Ombudsman unseated embattled Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo for grave misconduct and perpetually disqualified her from government service. In a 25-page resolution released on Tuesday, the Ombudsman also ordered the forfeiture of all her retirement benefits. It cited Guo’s close association with the raided Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) in Bamban town, which showed a “willful intent on her part to violate the law or disregard established rules.” “The series of acts are interconnected leaving no other conclusion than that they were committed by Guo with ulterior motive or self-interest,” the decision stated. The Ombudsman took into account Guo's acquisition of property that would become the site of a POGO hub discovered by the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission. Next page
