PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos has approved the flagship P16.1-billion digital infrastructure project that aims to complete the national fiber backbone and enhance internet connectivity down to the grassroots. Chiz says Bato can decline invite to EJK hearing SENATE President Francis Escudero on Wednesday said it is up to Senator Ronald Dela Rosa to heed the House invitation to attend the hearing on the bloody drug war during the administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte. Escudero noted that inter-chamber courtesy dictates that the House may issue invites to members of the Senate. However, Escudero emphasized that the House cannot and should not issue a compulsory process against a member of a co-equal chamber. SPEAKER Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez said he has no intention of running for the Senate in the 2025 midterm elections. 'Maybe I’ll just stay in the 1st district of Leyte. I’ll just do my work because there’s still a lot to be done in the district,” he told reporters in an impromptu interview after the groundbreaking ceremonies for the new hemodialysis building at the National Kidney Transplant Institute (NKTI). The House leader is on a third and final term as Leyte 1st district representative next year. Romualdez also shrugged off questions about the possibility of running for President in the 2028 elections. "That's still far," he said.
