Uptown Bonifacio The only giant fountain in the whole city of Taguig that showcases light, water, and fire is found in Uptown Mall. Located just across Uptown Parade, the Las Vegas-inspired dancing fountain features pyrotechnics and music as it greets mall guests at the corner of 36th Street and 9th Avenue. Apart from the fountain, the first and only underground mall is also in this Megaworld township, the Uptown Link, which connects the main mall to the residential area right across the street.

This is the principle that we live by and that we march by,” President Marcos said in remarks at the military's Western Command in Palawan yesterday. “We refuse to play by the rules that force us to Next page

A MARITIME law expert on Sunday said the Philippines should expel Chinese diplomats in Manila to make room for a fresh dialogue, even as a US security analyst cautioned the Philippine government from downplaying the latest incident at Ayungin Shoal. In a media interview, Prof. Jay Batongbacal, director of the University of the Philippines Institute for Maritime Affairs and Law of the Sea, said Manila is making a deliberate effort to still seek a diplomatic and peaceful resolution to the dispute. He noted though that the current Chinese Embassy officials have not been helpful in bringing ManilaBeijing relations together and even contributed to the distrust and aggravated the issues. Next page

Solon hits hypocrisy of anti-divorce groups DBM releases P14.046 billion By Rio N. Araja for military retirees ALBAY Rep. Edcel Lagman on Sunday took a swipe at a Catholic lay ecclesial movement for rejecting divorce amid reports that the group is willing to mount a people’s initiative campaign to block this measure. “Let us stop the religious hypocrisy being spread by the ‘Couples for Christ’ (CFC) that because of human weakness the Philippines must not enact a divorce law, but instead mend broken marriages,” he said in a statement.
“It is precisely because of human frailties, like marital abuse, infidelity and abandonment, among other mortal weaknesses, that marriages are totally destroyed beyond repair,” the lawmaker stressed. Lagman underscored the relevance of what Pope Francis wrote in footnote 351 of Amoris Laetitia (The Joy of Love) that “the Eucharist is not a prize for the perfect, but a powerful medicine and nourishment for the weak,” in considering giving the sacrament of communion to divorced and remarried Catholics.
