Welcome to the 2026 Society of Garden and Landscape Designers Awards Ceremony!

Tonight, we gather to celebrate the very best in garden and landscape design. This event is a tribute to the creativity, skill, and determination of our members, and we are thrilled to showcase their exceptional projects. Congratulations to all the winners—it is your hard work and vision that inspire us all.

The challenges our industry has faced in recent years have been significant, from shifting regulations to environmental changes and economic pressures. Yet, these hurdles have only strengthened our sense of community and purpose. To be a member of the Society is to be part of a supportive network committed to overcoming these challenges together and producing extraordinary gardens that elevate our profession. The 2025 Awards highlight how rapidly our ideas of what makes a garden beautiful are evolving. Functionality, sustainability, and aesthetics are transforming like never before, and this year’s projects demonstrate how designers are meeting these changes head-on with remarkable ingenuity.

Every garden celebrated tonight is a testament to collaboration. These achievements are only possible thanks to the dedication of teams that include clients, landscape contractors, suppliers, plant growers, artisans, and many others. Likewise, this event would not be possible without the support of our industry sponsors, who play a vital role in advancing the field of garden design.

A special thank you to our Media Partner, The English Garden, for helping to share these inspiring creations, and to our Charity Partner, Thrive, whose meaningful work brings the joy to so many.

We also extend our gratitude to AMS, our event organizers, and Hind + Osen, our PR team, who for over a decade have helped make these awards a highlight of the garden design calendar. Particular thanks go to Lynne Marcus, Chair of Awards, and our esteemed panel of judges, whose expertise and dedication ensure that tonight truly celebrates excellence.

Let us take this opportunity to honour the passion, resilience, and talent of everyone in our community. Here’s to pushing boundaries, embracing innovation, and continuing to create gardens that inspire and endure.

Best wishes, Andrew

Thrive is the gardening for health charity who help to improve people's physical and mental health through gardening and horticulture.

At our three centres in London, Birmingham and Reading we offer calm, safe spaces for people to connect with nature and with others through group gardening sessions facilitated by a trained practitioner. We refer to this practice as Social and Therapeutic Horticulture (STH). Over 40+ years as a charity we have seen the huge difference STH makes for people from a wide variety of demographics, health conditions and disabilities. The ways in which we support people very much depend on the needs of each individual. We might be supporting someone who has just had a stroke to realise their potential through using adaptive tools, supporting someone with autism to communicate and build friendships or providing support through our Get Gardening tools to help people reduce feelings of low mood, isolation and loneliness. Thrive can offer profound, positive change irrespective of knowledge or experience.
