Happy New Year! 2022 was another shitshow, but we’re approaching 2023 with a bit more optimism than we felt 12 months ago. We’re at least mildly confident that a lot of the stuff we’ve written about in this issue will happen, which is a definite improvement on the last two years. The fact that our cover line is not ‘All correct at time of writing’ is surely a cause for celebration. In the spirit of new beginnings and also trend forecasting, we look ahead to the coming months of culture in Scotland. An issue theme of Scottish culture? Surely that is the theme every month, I hear you cry! Weeeeellll it’s been a long year and this is what we’re working with.
