The Weber State Police Department received a medical call on Aug. 29 about an individual feeling unwell due to the outside heat. An officer arrived and placed the individual in the patrol vehicle. The officer then provided them with water and air condition-

On third and goal on Utah State’s 9-yard line, Barron connected with MacPherson in the end zone to put Weber State up 19–7. The Wildcats then faked a field goal, where punter Jack Burgess ran it in for the twopoint conversion.

After a scoreless possession from each side, the Wildcats were able to get into the end zone again as Barron connected with MacPherson on an 18-yard pass. With just under seven minutes to go in the fourth, the Wildcats were up 35–7.

Weber State’s defense held Banner to 120 yards and three interceptions. Tyler Jr. fin ished the game as the Aggies leading rusher with 64 yards.

Starting from midfield, the Wildcats put the ball in the hands of Da mon Bankston, who ran for 25 yards on his first possession. With another Bankston run and a few yards off of penalties, the Wildcats were able to make a field goal, giving Weber State a 3–0

“I saw all kinds of players in the meeting room preparing,” Wildcat coach Jay Hill said about getting ready to play Utah State. “This is a tough offense to stop, and we had DB’s in the office every day this week. They just played absolutely outstanding.”

Weber State will take on Utah Tech Univer sity at Stewart Stadium at 6 p.m. on Sept. 17.

Coming into the game, Utah State head coach Blake Anderson made a comment that this was Weber State’s equivalent of a Super Bowl.“We definitely took offense to that,” Weber State wide receiver Ty MacPherson said. “We came out. We played hard. We did every thing we could to win this game, and now it’s on to the next one.”

Weber State University is launching a new app to boost student safety on campus called Code Purple. The app boasts several features expected to help students feel safe on campus at any time of the day. The app is live and available for most mobile devices.“Thereason we developed it was to provide our campus community, of course, with further resources to keep themselves safe while they’re on campus,” Seth Cawley, WSU Police Department chief, said. He also said it can help students quickly connect with university police if needed.

In situations where students feel that a friend-accompanied safety walk may not be enough, there is also a safety lock feature. This will give students the opportunity to have a police department dispatcher accompany them virtually, being able to send officers at a moment’s notice.

Some participants came to learn more about Korea and its culture. Whether that curiosity stemmed from interest in family history, Korean media, a friend, or even from the flier, these participants came to enjoy themselves and immerse themselves in a different culture.

It was an eclectic group of people that came to the festival. Many were Koreans who missed celebrating the holiday togeth er. For them, it was a time to gather with friends and family and enjoy each other’s embrace and dine together.

Every minute was filled with some sort of entertainment, including games, kara oke, competitions, lottery tickets, dancing, performances and food! Lots and lots of Ko rean food! All the food was handmade and planned to fill every belly at the festival. Just to put that into perspective, 150+ people and four dogs attended that day.

festival for the holiday on Sept. 10. Chuseok is celebrated for three days, but this festival only lasted three hours. Those three hours were far from uneventful, as this festival was full of song and dance and was vibrant to the eyes and ears.

Chuseok is one of the biggest Korean hol idays celebrated every fall. It is a time where families gather together to give thanks to their ancestors for an abundant autumn har vest. The holiday is typically celebrated with wine, food and family gatherings. It general ly takes place in September or early October, based on the lunar calendar. This year, Chu seok was celebrated on Sept. 10-12.

The Student Health Center provides no mention of HIV testing, contraception op tions, PrEP medication, HPV vaccinations or simple family planning courses.

The rate for sexually-transmitted infec tions continues to grow each year and ac cording to the CDC close to half of the 20 million STIs reported in 2018 were people aged 15-24 years old.

A 2018 review of Weber’s Student Health Center shared that only 13% of students on campus take advantage of the clinic’s services. It makes me wonder if upgrading our sexual health resources and advertising them more would help the amount of stu dents using their facility.

Currently,offers. it looks like the Student Health Center provides chlamydia and gonorrhea testing for $35 each, pregnancy tests that are free and herpes culture testing for $65. These current services leave a large gap in student sexual health.

Lastly, Utah Valley University provides their students with pap smears, contracep tion and a complete HIV/STI testing panel.

SUU does not host an on-campus clinic, they do provide a plethora of detailed resources to get you the answers you need.

If you’re a student and looking for sexual health help that the Student Health Center can’t provide, Planned Parenthood of Utah is just down the street from campus and offers an extensive list of low-cost or free services and resources to our community.

In a recent search for sexual testing, I decided to check Weber State University’s website in an effort to understand the sexu al health resources and services our campus clinic

The Cavaliers being able to make a huge All-Star trade without getting rid of their big three of Garland, Mobley and Allen is mas sive for this young team. This is going to be one of the better Cavalier teams to watch in the post-LeBron James era.
