WILLISTON FIRE DEPARTMENT ASSISTS WITH CALIFORNIA WILDFIRES On September 13, the Williston Fire Department deployed Engine 10 and three firefighters to assist with wildfire response in San Bernardino County, California. The crew is expected to be on a 14-day deployment, with the possibility of reassignment throughout the state as needed.
The request for aid came through the Emergency Management Assistance Compact, a nationwide system for resource sharing during disasters. "We are beyond proud of our firefighters," said Fire Chief Matt Clark. "They are answering the call without hesitation". The department will monitor the crew’s status and provide updates.
