JBLFMU-M champs ASEAN-Inspired Eco-Friendly Costume-Making Contest By: Mdpwn. Erica F. Opinion and Jessiea B. Flores

With the theme, “ASEAN A.C.T.: Addressing Challenges Together,” John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University-Molo (JBLFMU-M) championed in ASEAN-Inspired Eco-Friendly Costume Making Contest as part of the 2022 ASEAN Music and Fashion Festival organized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office VI at the STI West Negros University Gymnasium, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, September 29.

John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University-Molo (JBLFMU-M) attained another glory as Levon Dave Panes, a 4th year Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management student, was recognized as the Philippines’ Outstanding Youth Leader and Inspiring Advocate for Community Development of the Year during the awarding ceremony of the Dangal ng Lahi at the Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao City, October 27. Dangal ng Lahi is a national award-giving body that recognizes individuals and organizations that show exemplary performance in their respective fields, wherein the selection process includes the passing of a bid book containing the achievements of the nominated individual and a school endorsement. “Aside from being overwhelmed, I am really grateful for all the sacrifices, hardships, and challenges during the pandemic.” “I was able to withstand and be resilient to push for

causes close to my heart, and now being recognized means a lot.” “This award is not mine alone, but for the people behind my back and the communities I have served,” said Panes. Panes is also part of the Borres Youth Leadership Institute Inc. Iloilo Chapter and has joined various projects like “Project I Am Home” and “Project Kalinga,” which have widened his scope not just inside the school but also in different communities. ____ . . .
