This year, we’re thrilled to celebrate two incredible groups of supporters who are quite literally taking fundraising to new heights by wingwalking!
On Easter Sunday, Julia Juhasz, Ruth Hitchins, and Luke Callaghan will be the first to step up, bravely climbing aboard for this unforgettable experience.
Then, on Sunday 21 June, Tim Spackman and Sarah Newbold joined by a team of external supporters will follow in their footsteps, soaring through the skies for a fantastic cause.
Wingwalking is no small feat, and we are beyond proud of their courage, determination, and commitment.

Thank you to all our wingwalkers - you inspire us all! Their willingness to push boundaries and take on such a daring challenge truly embodies the spirit of our community. We encourage everyone to show their support and cheer them on as they prepare for their flights.

Running for charity is about much more than crossing the finish line it’s about making a real difference while improving your own health and wellbeing.
From boosting physical fitness and mental resilience to giving runners a powerful sense of purpose, taking part in events for a good cause can be incredibly rewarding. Many runners say knowing they are fundraising for others keeps them motivated through training and race day nerves, while also bringing communities together in support of a shared goal.
A huge thank you goes out to everyone who has already signed up for the Barnsley 10K, with more than 78 runners set to take part and raise vital funds.
Your support will help make a meaningful difference to patients, families and staff.
If you’re feeling inspired, there’s still time to get involved, with a couple of places for both the Barnsley 10K in June and the Great North Run this September, offering another fantastic opportunity to challenge yourself while supporting a great cause.

“Last year, I stepped into the Barnsley 10k at the very last minute to cover for an injury, but for 2026, this race has been my goal from day one. It’s been a privilege to be even more involved this time around; I was delighted to be asked by the brilliant Jane and Kerry from the Charity Team to help with the selection fitting and design of our official team k come My jou speed might gown.
