Bernstein Revealed
Based in Gloucestershire, the Lindsay Martin Group began in 2017, influenced by the Cool Jazz of June Christy and the West Coast sounds of Chet Baker. The group add contemporary twists inspired by jazz fusion artists such as Jacob Collier, Vulfpeck, Julian Lage and Cyrille Aimee. At all times paying a respectful tribute to the music and cultural roots of the Great American Songbook, the group aspire to bring a fresh, fusion feel to cool jazz, swing and bossa nova standards. Expect an upbeat and varied set with standards from Rogers & Hart, Cole Porter and the Gershwin brothers, to Herbie Hancock lead fusion numbers and jazz funk crossover pieces.
We Salute You is Tewkesbury Royal British Legion’s annual concert in recognition of the contribution made by the Armed Forces Community to the nation. This year, as well as the varied and highly entertaining performances from The Boys Brigade Band, The Manor Players, the Innsworth Military Wives Choir & Sarah Rigby, who will lead a singalong finale; there will also be an awards ceremony to recognise local heroes and to announce the winning school for GP90. For one night only, Tewkesbury’s Royal Photographer, Jack Boskett takes to the stage for an exclusive presentation of his varied and stunning work on the big screen. Join Jack as he shares images and anecdotes of superb scenes of steam locomotives powering through the countryside as well as celebrities he has photographed personally, including Her Majesty The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and many other famous faces from stage and screen! Since Jack started his business aged just nineteen, he has been on a fast paced journey which has taken him all over the country. His out-of-the-box thinking and creative vision have led to him work for several large clients as well as having his work regularly published in the national press.

Shakespeare’s tale of illusion and revenge is brought vividly to life in Oddsocks’ musical, sci-fi adaptation. Prospero is marooned in a galaxy far, far away with his fearless daughter Miranda and a host of madcap aliens. Years later, when his enemies’ ship is passing nearby, the chance for revenge is hard to resist and he conjures up the force to bring them to him. This Rocket Man will have his day! This is an original and unique way for people to experience playing the steelpan. The steelpan is a perfect instrument for beginners to have a go at as the basic skills are easy to learn and playing the instrument does not require any previous musical experience. It is possible for a group with any level of musical experience to accomplish a simple melody within a short period of time.

Youth Theatre The Roses Youth Theatre is a fantastic way to get involved with one of Gloucestershire’s most active and friendly theatres. Members develop confidence through drama, voice coaching and movement. The Roses hosts the youth theatre’s main performance each year, affording members the opportunity to experience first-hand the inner workings of a professionally run venue. We also offer nationally recognised Arts Award qualifications.

James Fowkes James creates paintings whose subject matter is fabricated models of buildings and structures which he creates out of everyday objects and materials such as cardboard, foil and found objects. The rough quality of carelessly made models translate into carefully crafted, beautiful paintings. His process of creating artwork results in the paintings of such buildings to be considered ‘Baroque’ in style, contrasting heavily with the actual buildings, which are rigid and inanimate.

Keith Browning Keith Browning is an award winning Gloucestershire-based artist who has been drawing, painting and creatively experimenting for most of his life. Keith trained as a draughtsman and works as an Architectural Consultant on domestic and commercial projects, alongside his creative pursuits.

Penny Gaj Penny was brought up on the Isle of Wight and has painted from an early age. After spending quite a few years working in London, family life took her to the Cotswolds (a wonderful source of inspiration). She has been happily painting professionally for over 20 years now. Bliss is the radio, a mug of coffee, and a paintbrush in her hand, experimenting with different colour combinations and textures. Penny loves painting imaginary country scenes and trees with a story to tell.

Muse: Drones World Tour Muse embarked on their ambitious Drones World Tour in 2015-16, playing over 130 dates across the globe. Known for pushing boundaries in terms of their stage production the tour saw the band perform “in the round” from the middle of the arena, with the stage design and configuration giving fans a full 360 degree audio/ visual sensory experience. Filmed and recorded over multiple shows, this concert movie includes never before seen special effects along with an exclusive insight from the band in the introduction.
Andre Rieu’s 2018 Maastricht Concert: Amore Following on from the release of his album ‘Amore’ last year, which features his own versions of classic love songs from the worlds of popular and classical music, Andre presents a tribute to his love for music, his wife and children, and of course for his Johann Strauss Orchestra, with whom he has performed for over 30 years. Set against the incredible backdrop of the medieval town square, André performs with his 60-piece orchestra, as well as sopranos, tenors, and some very special guests. Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins hosts the presentation, as well as catching an exclusive chat with André the moment he steps off stage!

Fees And Charges
A postage charge of £1 per booking applies if you wish to have your tickets posted to you. You can avoid this charge by collecting your tickets from the Box Office. A voluntary contribution will be requested with each transaction to help secure the future of The Roses.
Reservations & Refunds
Reservations: Payment is required for reserved tickets within 3 days of the reservation, or 3 days prior to the date of the event, whichever is the soonest. Any reserved tickets not paid for by this time will be released. Exchanges: At our discretion, tickets can be exchanged for a different performance of the same event. An administration fee of £2 per ticket applies. We do not offer exchanges on tickets for different events. Refunds: We do not offer refunds on any tickets unless the event is cancelled or postponed. If you are unable to attend a performance, and the performance is sold out, we will offer to resell your tickets and credit your account. Members may be credited on performances that they are unable to attend provided we are notified prior to the event.
Only food and drinks purchased on the premises can be consumed whilst at The Roses. We reserve the right to refuse admission to intoxicated or disorderly people. Age guidance stated for live shows (where applicable) is provided by the visiting companies. The Roses is unable to accept responsibility for accuracy.
Ticket Types Full price: Adults Concessions Available (where specified) to children aged 3 – 15, to people receiving a state pension, those in receipt of Disability Living Allowance, Job Seekers Allowance or other documented benefits. You may be required to prove eligibility. Under 3s go free, provided they sit on a parent or guardian’s lap. Concessions are £2 off tickets for live events (excludes Band C on banded events) and £1 off for film. Families £2 off adult tickets for all parties of 3-9 when the group includes at least 1 child. Each party must include at least 1 person under the age of 16 and 1 adult. We do not charge for children under the age of 3, provided they sit on a parent or guardian’s lap. 16-25s A limited number of seats are available at £5 off the advertised price across any live event that offers concessions (excludes Price Band C on banded events and excludes pantomime). All 16 - 25s tickets must be booked in the recipient’s name. Schools & Groups Buy 10 tickets, get 1 free. Available on most live shows and all films. Please contact Box Office on 01684 295074.
