I’ve received such a huge warm welcome in my first few months in my new job and it’s been wonderful getting to know the theatre, the town of Tewkesbury, and its residents.

Next Live Broadcast Announced Following our first trial live broadcast of I AM BEAST back in March, we are delighted to announce the second, which will take place on Thursday 8 June when we broadcast EDge - the postgraduate performance company of London Contemporary Dance School. We hope that in time many of our productions will offer the opportunity to watch online for those that are unable to come to the theatre for the live performance or the chance to watch a performance where tickets have sold out. ABBA Forever is one of the UK’s leading international tribute shows, and theatre audiences have long enjoyed this superb recreation of one of the world‘s greatest pop bands. The unique ABBA sound is replicated with an incredible attention to detail, using a sixpiece band. Two outstanding ABBA girls complete the line-up, adding the essential glitz and glamour to a well-polished and humorous show. The wonderful lyrics penned by Benny and Bjorn are sung in magnificent harmony by all six performers on stage. Following a successful visit in March, clarinet player Paul Johnson once again joins up with Nathan King on guitar and Mike Sallis on bass to present their own take on jazz standards and cafe music. Whether playing as a trio, or with an occasional guest soloist, the three friends love jazz ballads and superstandards in the spirit of café culture, occasionally dipping into eastern folk and Latin music to express their pleasure in sharing the moment with a close audience. Inspired by the folk tradition, Kim Lowings and The Greenwood perform their songs with a contemporary twist. Their live shows are an energetic blend of original compositions and traditional songs. Kim Lowings, Andrew Lowings, Tim Rogers and Dave Sutherland bring together their multi-instrumental skill and individual experience resulting in an innovative and sensitive approach to arrangements. Gigspanner’s Big Birthday Band Celebrate Peter Knight’s 70th birthday year with him as he brings together friends old and new for a special one-off concert. Already firmly established as a trio, Peter Knight’s Gigspanner is comprised of Peter, Roger Flack and new percussionist Sacha Trochet. This evening they will be joined by duo Philip Henry and Hannah Martin as well as fellow folk stalwart John Spiers. Bee Daws is a specialist puppeteer inspired by the Japanese Bunraku form of puppetry. Bee will be joining The Roses and offering a 3 hour workshop using Jim Henson style puppets to capture the imagination of her group and explore techniques on how the puppet comes to life.

The Roses Youth Theatre The Roses Youth Theatre is a great way to get involved with one of Gloucestershire’s most active theatres. Each week we deliver 5 workshops for children and young people aged 5 – 21, developing skills in acting, improvisation, script work and acting for stage and screen. Alongside our team all Youth Theatre members develop confidence through drama, voice coaching and movement. The Roses hosts the youth theatre’s main performance each year, affording members the opportunity to experience first-hand the inner workings of a professionally run venue. We also offer nationally recognised Arts Award qualifications and are regular participants in the National Theatre’s Connections festival, Strike A Light Theatre Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe.

Exhibitions Graham Jones & Gareth Austin
Graham Jones started to paint at around the age of 12, but after discovering the art of three dimensions he became a professional sculptor which he has enjoyed for 35 years. Returning to painting, his works use the freedom of approach he discovered as a sculptor but takes him down exciting new routes of self expression with colour and composition. Gareth Austin’s work (pictured) depicts his fascination with contrast between light and dark and how light falling on objects and the shadows created defines the materials and textures of the subjects. He uses realism and detail as a way of freezing time, inviting us to appreciate the dazzling beauty of simple things.
Passion For Painting
This exhibition of work by Evesham College’s Passion for Painting group offers an exciting and colourful range of new work. Working in various paint mediums, such as oils, acrylic and collage, many themes are explored to produce a selection of contemporary and traditional art works for sale.

Fees And Charges
A postage charge of £1 per booking applies if you wish to have your tickets posted to you. You can avoid this charge by collecting your tickets from the Box Office. A voluntary contribution will be requested with each transaction to help secure the future of The Roses.
Reservations & Refunds
Reservations: Payment is required for reserved tickets within 3 days of the reservation, or 3 days prior to the date of the event, whichever is the soonest. Any reserved tickets not paid for by this time will be released. Exchanges: At our discretion, tickets can be exchanged for a different performance of the same event. An administration fee of £2 per ticket applies. We do not offer exchanges on tickets for different events. Refunds: We do not offer refunds on any tickets unless the event is cancelled or postponed. If you are unable to attend a performance, and the performance is sold out, we will offer to resell your tickets and credit your account. Members may be credited on performances that they are unable to attend provided we are notified prior to the event.
Only food and drinks purchased on the premises can be consumed whilst at The Roses. We reserve the right to refuse admission to intoxicated or disorderly people. Age guidance stated for live shows (where applicable) is provided by the visiting companies. The Roses is unable to accept responsibility for accuracy
Ticket Types Full price: Adults Concessions Available (where specified) to children aged 3 – 15, to people receiving a state pension, those in receipt of Disability Living Allowance, Job Seekers Allowance or other documented benefits. You may be required to prove eligibility. Under 3s go free, provided they sit on a parent or guardian’s lap. Concessions are £2 off tickets for live events (excludes Band C on banded events) and £1 off for film. Families £2 off adult tickets for all parties of 3-9 when the group includes at least 1 child. Each party must include at least 1 person under the age of 16 and 1 adult. We do not charge for children under the age of 3, provided they sit on a parent or guardian’s lap. 16-25s A limited number of seats are available at £5 off the advertised price across any live event that offers concessions (excludes Price Band C on banded events). All 16 - 25s tickets must be booked in the recipient’s name. Schools & Groups Buy 10 tickets, get 1 free. Available on most live shows and all films. Please contact Box Office on 01684 295074.
