Café Capriccio Café Capriccio is an acoustic group that celebrates the music and culture of European Café Society. The café culture goes back centuries, when the great thinkers, poets, philosophers, artists and even the revolutionaries of France would gather in their local café to debate, share and plot. Art and history were shaped at the tables of these cafés while musicians wandered from café to café or performed on a small stage inside. The music played is often free in form and lively, a ‘caprice’, with the occasional melancholic piece thrown in for variety.

This magical show has been written especially for grown ups to enjoy with their children, so come and relive the delights of this most charming of tales complete with a feast of sing along songs, colourful animal characters and heart warming family fun.
Based on the traditional Grimm brothers’ story, this ballet incorporates all the important elements – a beautiful girl, an enchanted mirror, a poisoned apple. Hip-hopping dwarves help Snow White find her Prince Charming. This spellbinding ballet promises to entertain and dazzle the whole family.
No one could have predicted that, 40 years on, they’d still be dazzling audiences with their showmanship and virtuosity. About 20 albums and thousands of gigs later, they’ve earned a reputation around the world as one of the finest exponents of the blues tradition in all its forms. With this line-up, it’s hardly surprising.

After a sell-out performance last year, Russian National Ballet returns for their annual UK tour with the premiere of the most romantic ballet in the world, Giselle. The gravely ill peasant girl Giselle falls in love with the handsome Prince Albrecht, who has been unfaithful to her. When jealous rivals claim her fiancé, the heartbreak is too much for her to bear. Weakened by her ill health and driven mad by despair, Giselle takes her own life. After her funeral Prince Albrecht visits her grave. The spirits of women betrayed before their wedding days return to take revenge on their philandering fiancés by dancing them to death. Only Giselle’s powerful love saves the remorseful Albrecht from this cruel fate, proving that love can conquer all – even death. Giselle remains one of the most celebrated classical ballets.

A dispute between two brothers over re-purposing their fishing boat for tourist trips becomes a metaphor for gentrification and the collapse of traditional ways of life in this strikingly shot film. Beneath the idyllic surface of a picturesque Cornish village, tensions between locals and tourists simmer in the summer sun, until a misguided prank brings things to boiling point. Director Mark Jenkin shot his film in black and white on a 1960’s clockwork Bolex 16mm camera and hand processed at home, which brings a palpable sense of history and nostalgia to some very contemporary issues.
Hatidze lives in a remote mountain village without water or electricity. The last in a long line of Macedonia Bee keepers, she harvests small amounts of honey from wild bees which she sells in the nearest market, a four mile walk away. This poignant and ravishingly beautiful documentary patiently observes a way of life that has changed little for hundreds of years, until a boisterous family move in next door and upset the dedicate equilibrium between humans and nature, threatening the survival of both Hatidze and her beloved bees.

A postage charge of £1 per booking applies if you wish to have your tickets posted to you. You can avoid this charge by collecting your tickets from the Box Office. A voluntary contribution will be requested with each transaction to help secure the future of The Roses.
Reservations & Refunds
Reservations: Payment is required for reserved tickets within 3 days of the reservation, or 3 days prior to the date of the event, whichever is the soonest. Any reserved tickets not paid for by this time will be released. Exchanges: At our discretion, tickets can be exchanged for a different performance of the same event. An administration fee of £2 per ticket applies. We do not offer exchanges on tickets for different events. Refunds: We do not offer refunds on any tickets unless the event is cancelled or postponed. If you are unable to attend a performance, and the performance is sold out, we will offer to resell your tickets and credit your account. Members may be credited on performances that they are unable to attend provided we are notified prior to the event.
Families £2 off adult tickets for all parties of 3 - 9 when the group includes at least one child. Each party must include at least one person under the age of 16 and one adult.
