She is joined by Liparit Avetisyan, Boris Pinkhasovich and the incomparable Bryn Terfel as the genial wheeler-dealer Doctor Dulcamara.

While Ana looks for fictious monsters, there are plenty of real ones around in the aftermath of the recent conflict. The allegorical nature of Spirit Of The Beehive hid its real intent on first release in the fascist Spain of the 1970’s. It has become one of the most acclaimed Spanish films ever made and was a major influence on Oscar Winning director Guillermo Del Toro and his seminal work Pan’s Labyrinth.

Thu 21 Sep 7pm, Sat 23 Sep 11.30am Luis Bunuel’s highly acclaimed story of rebellion and sexual liberation. Set in the 1920’s, Catherine Deneuve stars as a young woman who becomes the ward to local nobleman Don Lope However, Don Lope sees Tristana as an object of sexual desire, whilst also stating she has the freedom to live her life as she wants. When Tristana eventually shows her independence, there are unexpected consequences for everyone. Despite Bunuel’s protestations, the film was Oscar nominated at the time of original release. 06

Their sojourn goes wonderfully well until Lézardin, Emperor of Evil, decides to annihilate planet Earth.
