December 2021 Last Night In Soho (18) Edgar Wright’s latest film combines a wonderfully vivid depiction of swinging sixties London, a compelling cold case whodunnit and eerie (and be warned, bloody) psychological horror to great effect. The starry cast includes several veteran British actors who were in their heyday in the 60s, including the late Diana Rigg as the mysterious landlady to Eloise, who has moved to London to pursue her fashion career.

Forget all previous screen portrayals of Princess Diana; Kristin Stewart’s uncanny performance has to be seen to believed and is unlikely to ever be bettered. She completely inhabits the character from the inside out, revealing the anguish of her broken marriage, her unhappiness with her place in the royal family and her allencompassing love for her children.
Quant (12A)
Travel back to the 60’s with this revealing and entertaining celebration of the incredible life of one of the most influential icons of the 20th century, fashion designer Dame Mary Quant. Sadie Frost’s documentary mixes social history, archive footage, playful re-enactments, a fabulous soundtrack and a wealth of interviews with the likes of Kate Moss, Vivienne Westwood, Jasper Conran and Zandra Rhodes, as well as Mary’s family and peers.

Another chance to see Daniel Craig's last outing as Bond, who is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica after retiring from MI5. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

King Richard (12A)
Will Smith turns in the performance of his career in this inspirational story of Richard Williams, father to future tennis superstars Venus and Serena. Richard’s unorthodox methods are met with derision (along with latent racism), yet nearly every item he laid out in his 78-page plan came to fruition, with the sisters still dominating the game in their forties. A triumphant story of one man’s unwavering belief and passion overcoming insurmountable odds.

Power of the Dog (12A)

Ghostbusters: Afterlife (12A) The long awaited follow up to 1989’s Ghostbusters II is finally here. The story focuses on the grandchildren of one of the original Ghostbusters, who need to learn how to use his old Ghostbusting equipment to save their small town from a series of unexpected hauntings.
