In the Roeper Theatre Company's Middle School production of The Phantom Tollbooth, Milo, a bored boy, discovers a magical tollbooth that transports him to the whimsical Lands Beyond, where he embarks on a quest to rescue the lost princesses, Rhyme and Reason. Alongside his companions, Tock and Humbug, he travels through Dictionopolis and Digitopolis, meeting eccentric characters who challenge his understanding of words, numbers, and wisdom. Facing obstacles from the demons of the Mountains of Ignorance, Milo learns the value of curiosity, knowledge, and perseverance. By the end of his journey, he realizes that adventure and meaning exist all around him, even in his everyday life.
