Pilotage

Climate: Warm summers, mild winters Rainfall: Minimal year-round Winds: Predominantly northerly, occasional strong gusts in the afternoon. Tides & Currents: Monitor local conditions, especially during low tide.

Our dedicated & professional Saudi marine captains provide pilotage risk assessment, and will upload all waypoints to ensure safe passage through our navigational network.

Arrival What to Expect VTS Contact: Call RSG VTS on VHF Channel 16/76 prior to arrival. First Radio Contact: Schedule pilot boarding, receive weather forcast at 16:00, and receive navigation guidance. Navigation Channels Minimum Depth: 6 meters within navigable channels Speeds: Max 27 knots in waterways; 4 knots (or minimum safe manuevering speed) when approaching jetties. Caution: Watch for strong afternoon gusts and low tide conditions. All service fees must be paid in advance. Monthly mooring rates are subject to a minimum one-month commitment. Annual rates are based on a 12-month term and are nonrefundable in the event of early termination. Berth allocation is subject to availability and is at the sole discretion of the marina operator. Berth position may be reallocated at any time for operational or safety reasons. Vessels remaining in the berth beyond their paid term will incur overstay charges at 150% of the standard monthly fee. All vessels over 40 meters in length are required to use Pilot Services when entering or exiting the marina (min 3 hrs.). Pre-Navigational Advice is optional but strongly recommended for first-time arrivals or vessels exceeding 30 meters (min 1 hr.).

Shura Island is the heart of The Red Sea, shaped like a dolphin and designed as the destination’s vibrant and dynamic island. Also known as Coral Bloom, the island’s architecture takes cues from the surrounding coral reefs, with hotel designs that sit naturally within the landscape. Designed by Foster + Partners, Shura Island brings together 11 world-class resorts that reflect a strong focus on design, environmental responsibility, and long-term sustainability. The island is located approximately one hour by road from Red Sea International Airport, accessed via Saudi Arabia’s longest overwater bridge.
