Federal Located in Ottawa, the nation’s capital, the federal government is responsible for issues that affect Canada as a whole country such as international relations, immigration, criminal law, taxes, national defence, and foreign policy. The federal parliament includes the House of Commons comprised of 338 Members of Parliament or MPs from every province and territory, the Senate - comprised of Senators appointed by the Prime Minister, and the Monarch represented by the Governor General. The political party that elects the most MPs forms the federal government. Their leader becomes the head of the federal government - the Prime Minister. Provincial Located in Ontario’s capital, Toronto, the provincial government is responsible for issues that affect the province as a whole. These include education, health care, the environment, agriculture and highways. Ontario’s parliament consists of 124 elected representatives called Members of Provincial Parliament (MPPs) elected from across the province, and the Monarch represented by the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario. Each MPP represents a geographical area of the province called a riding. The political party with the most MPPs forms the provincial government. Their leader becomes the Premier and they are the head of the provincial government. Municipal The municipal government receives its power from the provincial government. The city or town council decides on by-laws that deal with issues concerning their community such as public parks, libraries, social services, local police and fire services, garbage removal, recycling, and public transportation. Municipal governments are led by mayors in cities and towns and reeves in villages and townships. 2

OVER THE BACK FENCE
You know, every time a visitor comes to our neck of the woods, each one of us is an ambassador. We may give them directions, help them find a restaurant, tell them about local events or just smile at them in the grocery store. Many of us make them feel welcome ... and hope they come back to help our communities thrive. I had the absolute pleasure to do a four-day houseboat adventure with a couple of my friends last week. We rented from Egan Houseboats, travelled through the Buckhorn Lock, moored at Lovesick and Buckhorn overnight and laughed our way across Lower and Upper Buckhorn as well as Pigeon Lake. I want to give a huge shout out to the men and women who work on the Trent-Severn Waterway. Without exception, they were kind, helpful and understanding of our inexperience. From guiding us in and out of the
lock, to helping us tie up and plug in ... they were definitely outstanding ambassadors for our region. Egan Houseboats also gets a huge thumbs-up from us! I had never been on a houseboat, let alone piloted one. But I felt confident after a tutorial and some hands-on training and we never looked back. They went above and beyond for our little crew and made our experience all the more memorable. More ambassadors! I highly recommend renting a houseboat and touring our lakes as a summer vacation. We will be doing it again ... so watch out! On another not quite so nice note, I’ve heard of a couple of unpleasant incidents at political gatherings during this municipal election. Unfortunately, a few individuals were not at the events to politely discuss issues with candidates. Luckily, officials at both events were able to contain the nastiness, but in one case the OPP had to be called in. I know politics can ruffle feathers, but you know that people listen better when you’re not yelling at them. As we head into the home stretch of the election, please be kind. editor@thepromoter.ca

COMMUNITY CARE REACHES GOAL
Thanks to the incredible generosity of donors, Community Care City of Kawartha Lakes has reached their goal of raising $50,000 to help fund the accessibility modifications for a new specialized transportation van. Every donation, share and show of support helped make this possible. Your generosity will help Community Care continue providing safe, accessible transportation for people who rely on the organization to get to medical appointments, treatments, community programs and other important destinations. 4
For individuals and families across the City of Kawartha Lakes, these rides mean more than getting from one place to another. They mean access to essential care, greater independence and staying connected to the people and activities that matter most. Although they’ve reached their $50,000 goal, the need for accessible transportation continues to grow. Each new specialized van costs more than $120,000 before accessibility modifications, and ongoing support helps us continue meeting the needs of our community. If you’d still like to contribute, donations are always welcome and will help support Community Care’s transportation services and the people who depend on them. Visit ccckl.ca for more information.
WHAT A MILESTONE!
From Facebook
United Way Haliburton and Kawartha Lakes recently shared that they have now grown, harvested and donated 100,253 pounds of fresh produce throughout Haliburton County and the City of Kawartha Lakes. As food insecurity continues to be an increasing challenge in our communities, they are proud to play a part in improving access to fresh, healthy food, increasing food literacy and building stronger, more sustainable local food systems. Since 2019, Edwin Binney’s Community Farm and Education Centre has been working to address food insecurity across the City of Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton County. What began as a food security initiative by United Way Haliburton Kawartha Lakes has grown into an important source of fresh produce for local food banks and meal programs, helping provide fresh food to people who rely on these services. This is a major milestone for the farm and community, and they are incredibly grateful to their partners, supporters, staff and volunteers who continue to help make it possible.

BRIAN BARTLEY
WARD 1 COUNCILLOR • CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES Bexley • Bolsover • Coboconk • Dalrymple • Kirkfield • Norland • Sedowa • Sebright • Uphill and everything in between
A Strong Voice for Ward 1 A NEIGHBOUR WHO KNOWS THIS PLACE
I grew up in Norland, went to school here and in Fenelon Falls, and earned an honours engineering degree from the University of Toronto. My family has lived in what is now Ward 1 since the 1860s. My wife and I bought our farm in the 1980s and have made maple syrup here since 1988 - today the largest maple operation in Kawartha Lakes - along with a cow-calf beef farm for the last 15 years.
WHAT DO I BRING TO THE COUNCIL TABLE
I am a registered professional engineer with more than 40 years experience in the private sector: budgects, people leadership, process improvement, and regulatory work. I have served as a director of the Coboconk, Norland Chamber of Commerce and as Chair of the Haliburton-Kawartha Maple Syrup Producers Association. My Goal is a municipal government that is efficent, practical, and fair to rural taxpayers. Value for Your Tax Dollar • The City's 10-year planned 7% annual taxlevy increase is unafforable and unnecessary. • Based on 2026 budget figures, administration grew from $20 million (10% of operations) to $51 million (17% of operations) from 2018 to 2026. • Ward 1 residents pay urban tax rates for rural services. That needs to change. Responsible Development • Planning has favoured large urban projects to the detriment of smaller communities like those in Ward 1. • We need practical rural zoning, local housing options, and employers to match the housing growth.
Roads You Can Rely On • Safe roads are essential for daily life, family safety and local commerce. • Winter standards must put enough equipment and operators on the road after a storm. Emergency Services and Health • When minutes count, paramedics and fire responders are the most important services we have. • I will support those departments and the opening of the Summit Wellness Centre. Over-The-Horizon-Radar • This will be the largest project ever in Ward 1, with limited local benefit. • I will work to minimize harm to residents and property owners and to maximize any local upside.

For the past eight years, I’ve had the privilege of serving on Council. As your Deputy Mayor (and formerly Councillor) I have worked hard to bring a fact-based, analytical approach to protecting what makes our community special, strengthening essential services, and ensuring your tax dollars are managed responsibly. Council made great progress last term in the areas of environmental protections, operational efficiencies, infrastructure upgrades and communications. I’m committed to continuing that work with integrity and delivering results for you. My Priorities have been, and continue to be: • Respecting and Protecting the Environment

I am a community activist and a lifelong resident of the Buckhorn area. I spearheaded the Buckhorn Regional Medical Centre, the Sports Pad and Sandy Lake Beach for starters, but that is the past. I look forward to the incredible opportunities that Trent Lakes presents, whether in tourism, small business, children’s initiatives or the individual wishes of the people as a whole. Our job is to represent people.
TRENT LAKES – COUNCILLOR GALWAYCAVENDISH WARD Caroline McGee
Trent Lakes is committed to delivering projects on time and on budget, but residents also deserve transparency and responsible financial management. The two garage projects represent a significant investment: $10.5 million in Bobcaygeon and $9.5 million in Buckhorn, alongside $6 million in borrowing that could cost $5 million in interest over 30 years. With $17 million available in reserves, residents

deserve a clear explanation of these decisions. I will advocate for: • A Financial Master Plan to help stabilize tax increases • Greater transparency and financial oversight • A comprehensive Operational Review to identify efficiencies • Improved Building and Planning services • An enhanced Community Grants Program to support local volunteers and community projects With tax increases of 4%, 4% and 5% over the past three years, it’s time to take a closer look at how we manage spending and deliver value for taxpayers. I will work hard to ensure your tax dollars are spent responsibly and deliver results for our community. Please vote Caroline McGee — Your Voice, Your Councillor!

I am running for Councillor because GalwayCavendish deserves strong, practical and accountable representation. My priorities are responsible spending, affordable municipal services and long-term financial planning. I will work to ensure taxpayers receive value for every dollar while maintaining the roads, infrastructure and services our community depends on. I will support protecting our lakes, waterways, forests and rural character, while encouraging responsible growth that respects our communities and environment. Council should listen to residents before making decisions that affect their homes, taxes and communities. My commitment is to bring practical experience, common sense and a strong work ethic to Council. I will listen, I will work, and I will stand up for Galway-Cavendish.

TRENT LAKES – COUNCILLOR HARVEY WARD Laurie Riley
I worked for municipal government for 26 years primarily as City Council’s Assistant before moving to Trent Lakes. That experience gave me the understanding of the importance for the relationship between Council and their constituents. Local government is the most accessible level of government to the public and it should remain that way. In my opinion, customer service is the foundation of everything but especially provides a benchmark to measure accountability and transparency. “Accountability”, “Transparency” and “Integrity” should not be just tag lines to satisfy requirements in Policies. They should actually mean something and be measured to ensure the goals are achieved. I am running for Council because I believe my experience and strong commitment to customer service will ensure Trent Lakes has a good foundation

CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES MUNICIPAL ELECTION CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES – MAYOR Ron Ashmore
As the People’s Mayor, I will restore power back to you through your Mayor and Councillors. In the last 10 years, elected officials have slowly lost control and we need to bring that back with better governance for you, the taxpayer and resident. I will have your back, always listen to you and deal with your concerns immediately and promptly. I have endured life’s experiences and can relate to your struggles. I feel your frustration now and will work hard for you all to make your lives more affordable and liveable in Kawartha Lakes. lessen our dependence on debt with innovative local equity financing solutions. I will introduce bold initiatives to put your needs first, such as revamping Customer Service, to bring the program back from the United States to Canada and have an in-house customer service system to enable you to get answers right away through your Councillor or Mayor. No more waiting weeks for answers. Information will be instant and available for you. Councillors and Mayor will have open communications between them and management so you can get answers and issues resolved immediately
Doug Ford
My name is Doug Ford, and I’m running for mayor with a clear plan to deliver: • 90-day building permits • A property tax freeze • Balanced budgets • New revenue streams • An end to third-party consultants • Elimination of the CAO position Our past Councils have left us with $140 million in debt. Now they want to raise your taxes by 6% annually for the next decade to help pay interest while continuing to borrow. I want to put us on a path to budget surplus, not more debt. We must stop 12- to 24-month permit delays that kill growth, control spending, and find better ways to generate revenue. Incumbent candidates share responsibility for our financial situation. This election is an opportunity for change and new voices on council. Elect Doug Ford for mayor. I have a plan, the courage to act, and the determination to deliver results.

I am running for Mayor of the City of Kawartha Lakes with a clear commitment to responsible growth, fiscal accountability, and better service for residents. A lifelong Kawartha Lakes resident, I have served on City Council and as Deputy Mayor, bringing municipal experience and a strong understanding of the
challenges and opportunities facing our communities. My career at General Motors and experience as a local small business owner has shaped my approach to leadership, focus on quality, accountability, continuous improvement, and results. Kawartha Lakes cannot simply manage the status quo. The City is growing, infrastructure needs are increasing, and taxpayers are facing rising costs. My priorities include planning infrastructure for responsible growth, protecting taxpayers, finding efficiencies, improving customer service, and ensuring residents receive value for every tax dollar. I am committed to working collaboratively with residents, businesses, farmers, community organizations, staff, and other levels of government. My message is simple:....Kawartha Lakes cannot be status quo. It’s time to raise the bar.
CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES – WARD ONE Brian Bartley
I grew up in Norland, went to high school in Fenelon Falls, then the University of Toronto for an Honours Degree in Engineering. We have the largest maple syrup bush in Kawartha Lakes -- as well as a cow calf operation. I bring more than 40 years in the private sector: project management, people leadership, real budget responsibility, regulatory work, process improvement, and waste elimination. I will fight for affordable taxes and value for your tax dollar. I will fight for a municipal government that works for rural Ward 1, not just urban growth. I will fight for better maintenance of roads and snow-removal standards with enough equipment and operators to meet what residents reasonably expect. I will work to minimize the harm and capture any good we can from the Over-the-horizon radar project. I will be a strong, research-ready voice who understands budgets and the real impact of by-laws on property owners.

Jennifer Sherry
My name is Jennifer Sherry. I am running for the position of Councillor in Ward One. Currently, I am the GM of the CNACC. I have had the privilege of being a community representative for the past 4 years. In that time, I have reopened the jail in Coboconk, helped bring baseball back to the community. Helped to plan and execute all our amazing events. As well as supporting and uplifting our business community and being the direct link to economic development and tourism for the municipality. I deal with the municipality on almost a daily basis in my role. It has given me a lot of experience in their policies, and the way the different departments function. What we need are creative solutions, to tackle our most consistent problems and I am ready to bring them to the council table. I have the energy, drive and time to take on the responsibility of consistent community improvement. A vote for me is a vote for your voice.
Vicki Taylor
My name Vicki Taylor and I am not from this community, I chose to be here. I chose to bring my family here, run my business here and employ people here; and I’ve chosen every day since to commit to this community by connecting people and businesses to make our community stronger. I have been working for this community from the start. I’m Vice-Chair of the local Chamber of Commerce, I serve on many volunteer committees, and I’ve created and organized events and showcases for our small businesses. I get things done. Not because it’s my job, but because I believe communities are stronger when we build each other up.
I also bring extensive experience managing complex, multi-million-dollar operations. I believe this experience is directly relevant to municipal government: managing resources responsibly, looking for efficiencies, working across competing priorities, and making sure there is value in every dollar spent.
CITY OF KAWARTH LAKES – WARD TWO Terry Blackmore
Ward 2 is my home. My family’s roots and community service span decades. I am proud to continue that tradition by serving ALL residents of Ward 2 and Kawartha Lakes. As a Royal Canadian Air Force veteran and aviation leader, I built my career on safety, accountability, Total Quality Management and customer service excellence—an achievement of which I am especially proud. As councillor, I will bring those standards to City Hall by listening, responding, following through and treating every resident with respect. I will champion smart spending, better roads, safer communities, emergency preparedness, local businesses and recreation. I will stand with farmers. Farmers feed us, strengthen the rural economy and help preserve farmland and the character of Kawartha Lakes. I offer accessible, hands-on leadership grounded in service before self. I will return calls within 24 hours, act on facts, work constructively with others and get results for our communities.

2 City Council. With a background in finance, compliance governance, and as the CEO of Autism Workforce Solutions, my career is built on designing systems that maximize efficiency and protect the bottom line. For too long, Ward 2 taxpayers have shouldered unsustainable tax hikes while critical road projects remain deferred. My platform is clear: Auditing City Hall, Fixing the Roads, and Protecting Your Paycheque. I will bring corporate-level auditing to municipal bidding to ensure every infrastructure dollar is spent efficiently, getting our local streets paved without passing bloated administrative costs onto you. Furthermore, before any future tax levy increases are approved, I will mandate a ‘Zero-Waste’ efficiency audit on all third-party municipal contracts. Finally, as an autistic woman and mental health advocate, I know that true inclusion is a powerful economic driver. I will champion streamlined zoning to fast-track community mental health clinics. Together, we can build a Council that is accountable, practical, and people-first. I respectfully ask for your vote.
Pat Warren
We have achieved many things together for Ward 2. We continue protecting our lakes and green spaces to advancing infrastructure projects such as the lights on 36 and many road projects. More needs to be done while getting the best value for each tax dollar spent. I would like to advance affordable housing projects by working with the upper levels of government to achieve this. We need to protect farmland and our lakes. I also would like to support a cost-effective rural transportation plan. More primary health care is needed as well as working with the province to bring in urgent care centers to help take the pressure off the emergency department at the Ross Infrastructure is so important but so too are other services such as emergency services, recreation, libraries, heritage and culture as well as the arts that make our municipality a safe and wonderful place to live. CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES – WARD THREE Mike Perry
Ward 3 is my home. I grew up here and am raising my young kids here. I’ve spent my term as your Councillor showing up, listening, and putting in the work to get results. My priorities are simple. First, affordability. We’re all feeling the squeeze, so at budget time I’ve moved motions to keep City costs low and I won’t spend on growth until we’re sure it’s coming. Second, fixing our roads and slowing traffic down. I’m proud to have helped secure more than $16 million to resurface Ward 3 roads so far. Speeding is the number one concern I hear from residents, so I’ll keep working with the OPP to increase enforcement. Third, responsible growth, with new homes that don’t cost us our lakes or the charm of our villages. I’ll keep answering your calls and emails promptly, keep City Hall accountable to you, and always treat you with respect and kindness. As Rosemary McColeman from Cameron puts it: “When Mike says he’ll do something, he does it.”
CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES – WARD 4 Guru Bhat
I am Guru Bhat, candidate for Ward 4 Councillor, and owner of Oakwood Grocery. Ward 4 residents tell me the same things every day: fix the roads, watch the tax bill, and be someone they can actually reach. That is my platform. Fix the roof first. Urgent road repairs, support for seniors and farmers, more childcare spaces, better parks, and cleaner lakes come before optional projects. I will push for lower property taxes and spending that matches real needs. If elected, I will open a physical councillor office in Ward 4 so residents have a place to be heard. I already hear those concerns at the store and on the doorstep. I will keep doing that after election day.
Dan Joyce
My platform continues to focus on roads, Agribusiness, Community Hubs (arenas, parks, community centres & libraries), family doctor recruitment and fiscal responsibility. New this term is bringing public transit into Ward 4. Under my tenure, 26% of the Rural & Gravel Resurfacing budget was spent in Ward 4 with over 40 roads resurfaced; invested over $7.5M on our building’s infrastructure; recruited 15 family doctors; and kept your General Tax Levy at 3% each year. Agribusiness continues to be the #1 industry in Ward 4 and I stand on guard with Farmers to protect their land and way of life. I have a blend of rural life upbringing and 40+ years of successful corporate business development, (mergers, acquisitions, plus partnerships with

I’m running for Ward 4 because I believe our communities deserve a stronger connection with the people making decisions at City Hall. One thing I’ve heard again and again while talking with residents is that they want better communication. They want to know what is happening, why decisions are being made and, just as importantly, have an opportunity to speak up before decisions are made. If elected, I would like to hold quarterly community meetings throughout Ward 4 so residents have a regular place to raise concerns, share ideas and ask questions. I also want to see attention given to the everyday things that matter in our communities -- from sidewalks and accessibility to keeping our community spaces active and creating more opportunities for youth and seniors. I’m not running to simply have a seat at the Council table. I’m running to bring Ward 4 to that table -- and to make sure the conversation continues after election day.
CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES – WARD FIVE Julie Coombs
I’m Julie Coombs, a nurse, mom, surrogate, and
lifelong Kawartha Lakes resident running for Ward 5 Councillor. I’ve lived, worked, and raised my family here. I’m not a career politician – just a working parent who sees the daily challenges: long ER waits, speeding, rising costs, and strained services. My priorities are practical. • Safer streets through traffic-calming measures like stop signs and speed bumps. • Fairer taxes for residents by analyzing our tax base and and current budget to reduce the 7% to 4% then increase with inflation. • Smarter policing with an independent review of KLPS and OPP to deliver better value without compromising safety. • Support for a food co-op feasibility study and expanded non-emergency clinic hours (7am to 10pm) to ease ER pressure. Good government starts with listening. If you want safer streets, fairer taxes, better care access, and a community-first voice, I’d be honoured to earn your vote.

From my recent but short time on Council, my 40year career in municipal finance and service delivery and my involvement in the community, I believe that my experience and knowledge provide me with the tools to effectively add value to the role of City Councillor. We need Councillors who are serious, equipped and responsive to the many challenges faced in the City of Kawartha Lakes – Councillors who are skillful and disciplined, who understand how government works

to the betterment of all of its citizens, and leaving no one behind. From municipal budgets and taxation, managing growth, environmental emergencies, access to healthcare, police, fire, emergency services; affordable housing, transportation and traffic control – our challenges are real and often complex. I respectfully submit, that I am well-positioned to serve effectively in the role of Councillor in the City of Kawartha Lakes
CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES – WARD SEVEN Shelagh McFarlane
I’m running for Councillor in Ward 7 to fix two serious problems: secret agreements signed by Officials who are not under Oath, and made beyond purview of the local Office. I promise I will take the public Oath and work for the people, not the City of Kawartha Lakes. This solves all the problems we are experiencing here. When under Oath, elected officials can discharge your public bills properly, eliminate City Hall administration by 95%, significantly reduce property taxes, maintain public infrastructure at much higher standards, and give the power back to the people who live here. So before you vote, ask your Candidate: • Do you think the UN Agenda2030 Goals are more important than people? and • If elected, will you take the public Oath to serve the local people and area ONLY? I guarantee that people are my ONLY priority, not foreign Strategic Business Plans. More at www. voteshelagh.shelaw.ca.

Kawartha Lakes is a place to live, but too many families are wondering whether they can afford to stay here. That is why I’m running for Ward 7. I want a Council that reflects the people who
live here: young families, working people, seniors, renters, homeowners and business owners. We need responsible taxes, local jobs, housing people can afford, and economic growth that supports new investment and the businesses already here. Affordability is about more than taxes. It is whether families can afford housing, groceries, childcare, recreation and a good quality of life. We also need a safer, healthier community. That means taking mental health and addiction seriously, supporting vulnerable people with dignity, and recognizing the impact these issues have on families and neighbourhoods. I’m not promising answers. I’m promising to ask hard questions, listen, and do the work. If something isn’t working, don’t just complain about it. Do something.
Eric Smeaton
I believe the greatest issue facing Ward 7 is connectivity -- ensuring everyone, including our rural communities, can get where they need to go and access the services and opportunities they need. Transportation is about more than roads. Rural residents need better connections to health care, essential services, employment and the broader community. As Kawartha Lakes grows, rural residents must remain part of that growth. Agriculture must also remain central to our future. Farmers are a vital part of our economy and the foundation on which this community has been built. Arts and culture strengthen our community, helping create a place where people want to live, work, raise families and invest. Supporting the arts is an investment in our future. We must also continue addressing homelessness and the opioid crisis through strong community supports and Human Services. I bring municipal experience, community connections and a willingness to listen, collaborate and find practical solutions.

CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES – WARD EIGHT Tom Hickey
As a Ward 8 resident since 1999, a family man, and a retired Kawartha Lakes Police Service Inspector with 37 years in public service, I bring proven leadership and deep community roots to this role. My extensive background includes managing budgets, serving on non-profit boards, teaching for 15 years, and leading safety initiatives like the City of Kawartha Lakes Situation Table. When elected, you will get an experienced, accountable leader who practices servant leadership through transparency, hard work, and fact-based decisions. I am committed to open, face-to-face communication to restore public trust in local government. What you won’t get from me is empty political platitudes or answers designed just to placate you. I refuse to make hollow promises I cannot keep, and I will always give you the straight, honest truth because your confidence matters.
ENGLISH-PUBLIC SCHOOL BOARD TRUSTEE (TRILLIUM LAKELANDS DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD) FOR WARDS 1 AND 4 Deb McInerney I am Deb McInerney and I have been the Trustee for Wards 1&4 since 2022. I decided to run again for many reasons, despite the recent restrictions imposed by the current Minister of Education. I am passionate about students and public education and attend dozens of school and staff functions a year. Trustees are prohibited by law from

becoming involved in operational issues at schools but I have helped parents navigate the system and can continue to contribute in this way. I have provided valuable input on the Special Education Advisory Committee (after 22 years as a Special Education teacher) and am a vocal advocate for students. I know my way around a financial statement and voice my concerns when necessary. I believe that centralizing Board operations at Queen’s Park will be harmful to our area, and want to be a voice for all of our students.

Oct. 16 to 29 By Melodie McCullough
Aquarius (Jan. 21 to Feb. 19) Autumn can be a time to reassess boundaries and recalibrate your goals, Aquarius. Make choices that will move you forward through the coming winter!
Leo (July 24 to Aug. 23) There is always time for a “me-day”, Leo. These days of shortening light and cooler temperatures, are the perfect time to press pause and rest.
Pisces (Feb. 20 to March 20) Most people need close relationships and social interaction to feel happy, Pisces, and you are no exception. Loneliness can creep in if true human connection is missing. While time alone can induce greater mindfulness and creativity, don’t let it take over your life. Check in with the experts and find a way to enjoy both solitude and personal interaction.
Virgo (Aug. 24 to Sept. 23) Virgo! Keep cool and practice patience! There will be situations in the days ahead that may test your ability to stay calm. Don’t lose your head!
Aries (March 21 to April 20) “I used to dream about escaping my ordinary life, but my life was never ordinary. I had simply failed to notice how extraordinary it was.”: Ransom Riggs. How true, Aries! Don’t forget to look around every once in a while and appreciate what you see! Taurus (April 21 to May 21) Trust your feelings, Taurus! At this time, don’t let anyone talk you into something you may regret later. If it feels “off” to your “spidey sense”, don’t do it! Gemini (May 22 to June 22) The astrological sign of Gemini represents the “Great Twins”, Castor and Pollux, and, because of this, Geminis are said to have dual personalities – unpredictable and eccentric. Dear Gemini, is this you? Cancer (June 23 to July 23) Cancer, break free from self-imposed limits! Stretch a little more - physically and intellectually. There are unknown parts of you that can use a little nudge to spring forth!
Libra (Sept. 24 to Oct. 23) It can be very helpful every once in a while to step back and check out the big picture, Libra. Many things occur in the wider sphere while we are busy taking care of minor day-to-day activities – but it never hurts to look beyond. Scorpio (Oct. 24 to Nov. 22) Look up to the sky, Scorpio, on Oct. 26 to witness the Hunter’s Full Moon. The name represents the time of year when the Indigenous peoples hunted and preserved meat for the coming winter and the full moon’s light helped. It is also a time of introspection and preparation. How will you prepare for the days ahead, Scorpio? Sagittarius (Nov. 23 to Dec. 21) Don’t let boredom drag you down during this phase, Sagittarius. Why not take a sunset stroll or a brisk morning constitutional (walk). Break up the monotony! Your healthy self will thank you. Capricorn (Dec. 22 to Jan. 20) Sometimes change can happen slowly without being noticed. Before we know it, things are different. This is the way of the world, dear Capricorn, and we cannot CHANGE it – we must accept it and look to the future.
