As Bergen Volunteers celebrates its 60th anniversary, the Paramus-based nonprofit reports that its programs served more than 8,000 Bergen County residents in 2025 while mobilizing approximately 25,000 hours of volunteer service. The organization released its 2025 Impact Report this month, highlighting volunteer-driven programs supporting seniors, at-risk youth, low-income families and nonprofit organizations throughout Bergen County. According to the report, the CHORE program assisted 1,323 seniors with minor home repairs and safety upgrades, while CHEER provided companionship and practical assistance to 109 isolated older adults. Other initiatives included Bergen READS, which paired volunteers with 167 elementary students to improve literacy skills, and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, which prepared 525 tax returns, helping residents secure approximately $620,000 in

family arranged a surprise tailored to his interests: a visit from a Buldo Brothers Sanitation truck and the driver he eagerly waits to see every week.

A Midsummer Nightʼs Jam, an evening of live music featuring Haworth-area musicians, will be held Saturday, July 25, from 6 to 10 p.m. at Memorial Field in Haworth. The rain date is Saturday, Aug. 1, from 6 to 10 p.m. The community concert will feature a wide range of musical styles, including classical, cultural, Broadway, and rock performances, in a family-friendly outdoor setting. Bring blankets and chairs for an evening under the summer sky. A suggested donation of $5 per person will support future community arts programming.
