A note from the editors Economic Persepectives is the Perse Economics Magazine dedicated to students run by students. Published termly, Economic Persepectives seeks to explore the complex world of Economics on a theme-by -theme basis. For our Summer edition, we have chosen the theme Crisis. The world today feels increasingly unstable. From geopolitical issues such as the Ukraine war, Israel-Hamas and increasing tensions in Asia, to domestic issues such as sluggish growth, in�ation and widening inequality. Even international trade seems to be under threat, with tariffs and protectionism making a comeback. Crisis, it seems, is the de�ning backdrop in today’s economy. This edition includes fourteen unique articles diving into many aspects of crisis such as economic, political and social issues. This edition also includes �ve timely pieces on current affairs and two insights into famous economists whose ideas have shaped how we understand and respond to crises. We also have 4 book reviews from the Christmas Book Review Competition. The collection of diverse articles aims to showcase the diversity and depth of thought within our writers. From re�ective essays on historical turning points to sharp analysis on current global tensions, we hope that every single article offers something that informs and inspires you.
