The auction also features Property from the Estate of the Late Cherry Barker, the former actress and model, whose passion for antiques ran throughout her life. Whilst living in London she was often to be found at Portobello Road where she honed her collecting eye. On moving permanently to Wiltshire with her husband, Peter, she scoured the local antique shops and started to buy and sell in her own right. She adored Staffordshire ceramics for their pretty designs and horses - claiming she could ride before she walked. Although she loved the countryside Cherry never quite gave up her heady London lifestyle, her interest in fashion and entertaining continued, as did her bridge playing, later into her life.
