Macirowski Pastoral Coordinator for Worship & Music / Principal Organist Worship@stmaryscoltsneck.org Music@stmaryscoltsneck.org Greetings everyone, The directives from the office of the Bishop are quite clear and offer us much guidance as we venture into what is certainly a strange time in our lives. The parish leadership, clergy, and trustees have convened to decide on the best practices to implement these guidelines, and they have been sent in today’s weekly e-bulletin. I have outlined specifics for each ministry below as pertains to them, as well as some more generic points of note. As pre-registration for Mass attendance is required, it is imperative that all volunteers register (along with their families) for Mass. MSP will reflect volunteer assignments, but does not count as your “ticket” to get in, so to speak. Please register yourself and family for the Masses at which you are scheduled. Thank you in advance. For all parishioners: Congregating before and after Mass is prohibited, as per the bishop. There will be no children’s liturgy of the word dismissal. Volunteers are greatly needed to wipe down the wood of the pews after all Masses (weekend and weekday). We will have a cleaning crew take care of the floors, bathrooms etc, but need this little bit of additional help. Please contact me if you are able. At weekday Masses, no one is to arrive prior to 8:30 AM. All Masses will be in the church. Exposition remains suspended for the time. Private adoration of the Blessed Sacrament reserved in the tabernacle is welcomed and encouraged at any time. For extraordinary ministers: Through July 5, the parish clergy will be the ordinary ministers of holy communion, under the species of the sacred host only. As time moves forward and additional guidelines are released, this may be modified. For ushers: The offerings of the faithful will be deposited in opaque boxes in the narthex as they arrive. At the conclusion of Mass, 2 ushers are needed to secure the donations as per the usual practice. If you plan to come to Mass and are willing and able to assist, please submit to me: your name and which Mass you will be attending. I will schedule 2 ushers for each Mass, and this will be reflected in MSP. For readers: There is to be 1 reader per Mass. I will assign readers based on previous MSP preferences however, I will first need to know if you are willing and able to participate as a reader at this time, and throughout the summer months. For altar servers: As is customary for Sunday Mass, 2 altar servers are requested for each Mass. I will schedule 2 servers per Mass based on previous MSP preferences, please let me know if you will participating during the summer months. For music ministry: Parish music staff will provide music for all weekend and weekday liturgies through July 5. As things progress, we will begin scheduling volunteers as is our custom, and I will inform you if and when we begin to make those adjustments. Choirs are not to be used at this time. EXPECTATIONS AS WE PREPARE TO GATHER FOR MASS On-line pre-registration is the best way for us as a community to be welcoming and prayerful while adhering to the strict expectation of maintaining 1/3 our official capacity. That magic number is 200 persons. Each Monday morning, the pre-registration site will go live. Parishioners can choose which Mass they will attend. An email confirmation will be sent. Bring this confirmation email with you to present to those who will be at the center main doors. There will be personnel there to insure pre-registration, that each person is wearing their mask and to advise that social distancing is to be observed when entering/exiting, selecting a seat, processing/recessing to receive Holy Communion. It will require all to come earlier than usual to be processed and to search for seating that observes social distancing. Because of this entrance will be restricted once the Mass has begun. Masks and Social/Physical distancing are required. There can be no physical collection of Stewardship Offerings; Two designated boxes will be placed in the Narthex/Gathering Space for the placement of envelopes or offerings. Thank you for your generosity. Missals, Missalettes, Bulletins, and other papers have been removed. Holy Water has been drained from all locations. Parish Clergy will distribute Holy Communion; we ask all coming forth to observe distancing front to back and
side to side. We have been advised that socializing before or after the Mass inside or outside is to be discouraged; clergy are not permitted to greet parishioners before or after the Mass. Weekend Mass Pre-registration acceptance for June 28th, 8 am, 10 am, or 12 noon Masses will be Monday, June 22 - Thursday, June 25, at noon.
