Updated Covid-19 Protocols at St Mary Parish There are updated directives from the Diocese where masks will no longer be required for fully vaccinated persons. If not fully vaccinated, persons are strongly encouraged to follow CDC guidance and wear a face mask in public settings. Also Effective June 4, all indoor gathering limits will be removed . Although these directives represent a reduction of pandemic restrictions, St Mary has a few requirements for Mass.
The Sign of Peace will resume but we encourage parishioners to replace a handshake with a reverent gesture, such as a nod or wave.
During the Our Father please refrain from holding hands or making contact with any nonfamily member.
St Mary has decided to continue with the electronic bulletin that is timely emailed to our parishioners each week. If you should require a printed copy, please contact Andrea Billitteri at the parish Office (732-780-2666 ext. 311) and one will be made available to you.
If you are not receiving the bulletin via email please email or call the parish office and we will add you to our distribution list.
With the lifting of the dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass, we have discontinued the broadcast Mass after June 13, the Tenth Sunday in Ordinary Time. There remain many options on TV and the internet for those who choose.

Couples from Ocean and Monmouth Counties may attend the Mass and Blessing at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine in Freehold on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at 3 pm. Christians must see the world through the eyes of the poor, Pope says VATICAN CITY – Parish, diocesan and national Catholic charities help the Catholic Church live the Gospel by being a "Church of tenderness and closeness where the poor are blessed, where mission is at the center and where joy is born of service," Pope Francis said. The Gospel teaches only one Christian lifestyle: "It is the style of humble love, concrete but not showy, proposed but not imposed. It is the style of gratuitous love, which does not seek rewards. It is the style of availability and service, in imitation of Jesus who made himself our servant," Pope Francis said June 26 as he helped celebrate the 50th anniversary of Caritas Italiana. Leaders of the national Catholic charity and its more than 200 diocesan branches gathered in the Vatican audience hall to mark the anniversary. "I would like to say thank you, thank you; thank you to the staff, the priests and the volunteers! Thank you also because during the pandemic the Caritas network intensified its presence and relieved the loneliness, suffering and needs of many," Pope Francis told them.

That is what the new proposed document to be drafted in the next few months will consider, similar to the USCCB document on the Holy Eucharist (“Happy Are Those Called to His Supper”) published in 2006, not a set of national norms on Eucharistic reception, although worthy receiving of the Holy Eucharist will surely be addressed.

St. Mary’s Martha Mary Guild It was an unusual year for the Martha Mary Guild – as it was for most organizations! However, the Guild tried to “carry on”, with Zoom Board meetings and a few “socially distant” General meetings. Pictured above are many of the Board members who decided to have the annual “In & Out” Luncheon, even though there were no “Ins” & “Outs” of officers, due to the Pandemic. We gathered at the Molly Pitcher on Wednesday, June 9th, where the setting was lovely and the food was delicious. Quo vadis… My Dear Parishioners: Today we celebrate the Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time. Is Jesus a carpenter or a prophet for us? How we believe will determine how we project who we are—the body of Christ. People will look at us and see the externals; we are laborers and professionals, town workers and church workers. It took mighty deeds on Jesus’ part to astonish the townspeople in his native place enough to ask the question about his identity. It is only when our own words and deeds go beyond what people expect of us that we will astonish our families, friends, and acquaintances into asking similar questions of us: “Who is this person?” “Where did this person get all this?” We are anointed prophets in baptism. We receive the wisdom of the Holy Spirit. We are empowered to do the mightiest of mighty deeds: be the body of Christ, bringing Christ’s risen presence to our broken world. What will people say of us? We will shock them into taking a second look at our identity only when we live as Jesus did—giving ourselves for others. Our nation celebrates another anniversary of our independence this week. Is it just another day? Do we understand our independence in light of the evening news? Do we truly realize what a blest nation we are and honor those who have and continue to fight for our freedom? This summer let us re-kindle that spirit of patriotism that gave birth to our country. Let us, by our example, show to those new immigrants and our children and young people the pride we have in being called Americans. This weekend we will observe an abbreviated mass schedule, Saturday 5:00pm &
Sunday 10:00am. Please note this in your personal schedules. Monday, 5 July is when the civic observance is observed; mass will be celebrated at 9:00am in the Chapel. I am pleased to announce to you that Jill Ramme Russo has joined our parish staff as the principal cantor. She is part of the Worship and Music Ministry which is overseen by Pastoral Coordinator Andrew Macirowski. Jill has been involved in music ministry most of her life. She has held Director of Music Ministry in the past. We welcome her liturgical and music experience in our praise of God. With the lifting of many COVID-related restrictions in our churches, we have removed the hold on all PARISH BULK SUBSCRIPTIONS to The Monitor Magazine effective with the June 2021 issue. As a reminder, these are the copies of the magazine that were ordered by the parish (before the COVID shutdown) for parishioners to pick up in church.
