Guidelines of the Universal Church The Catholic Church in the United States asks of us as baptized Catholics to observe the following:
Good Friday (April 10) is a day of fast (only one full meal) and abstinence (no meat). Fast—consume only one full meal. Abstinence– consume no meat; this obligation prohibits the eating of meat but not eggs, milk products or condiments of any kind, even though made from animal fat. Baptized Catholics between the ages of 18 and 59 are obliged to fast and those from the age of 14 are also obliged to abstain. All are encouraged to embrace these practices as part of our spiritual journey.

While we are unable to come together for public worship, there are things we can do to unite ourselves with the trinity in times of isolation. Read and reflect upon the daily readings - not only on Sunday, but on weekdays as well. Some of us have missals at home, others may utilize usccb.org to find them. Pray the liturgy of the hours - maybe not ever y pr escr ibed time of day, but find something that wor ks for you and your household. Maybe morning, midday, or evening. A good place to start if you do not have a book of your own is ibreviary.com Watch the Mass online - Ther e ar e sever al chur ches in our diocese, mor e ar ound the state, and many more in our country and world that make the Mass available to live-stream or watch recorded Masses. Some of these even provide digital worship aids so that you may follow along with the readings, songs, etc., and some are better than others. Set aside an hour to view the Mass, turn off the cell phone, and immerse yourself in the experience. Pray before meals - if you don’t already. Pray the rosary - and ask the Blessed Vir gin to inter cede for us. Pray the prayer for protection found in the bulletin. Find time each day to shut out the noise of our (less) busy world and through the quiet allow God to enter your heart and give you peace. Stay well. 2020-2021 Religious Education Please anticipate your needs and complete the process in a timely manner so that we might provide for the needs of all our children & families. The registration process, including all payments, must be completed before student placement is secured.
Fall and Online - Grades 1 - 8 : Tuition $250/child^ Registration begins April 1, 2020 at 9 am and ends May 31, 2020 at 12 noon. April 1 at 9 am - April 30 at 12 noon there is a $50 early registration discount. (Full payment must be completed by 12 noon April 30 to qualify for the discount) Registrants after close date will be subject to availability and a late fee of $50/child Grades 1 & 2: Two year First Penance & Reconciliation and First Eucharist Preparation. Grades 3 - 6: Faith and Life On-Line Program Grades 7 & 8 : Confirmation Preparation
^Cancellations are subject to a $10 processing fee. ^NO REFUNDS for Fall Tuition after 5 classes have been completed.
Registration for students entering 7th and 8th grades in the Fall will begin April 1. For the past several years, these grades have met on Sunday evenings on alternate weekends. We are looking at modifying the Sunday schedule (currently A one week B the next) for this coming 2020 – 2021 school year to (A&B) classes meeting on the same Sunday approximately every 2 weeks. When you go to register your child for the Fall, you will have a choice. We will have a session beginning with the 12 noon Mass and running until 2:30, and a second session on that same Sunday running from 5:00-6:30 p.m. Students will still meet roughly every other weekend. There may be times during the year when a special service activity or speaker might be scheduled between the afternoon and evening sessions or on the off weekends. We would like to keep the sizes of the two groups roughly the same. Therefore when you register, you will be asked to choose which session you would prefer, or indicate if you have no preference. Be sure to register early in April if you have a definite preference. Registration will be on a first come first served basis according to your full completion of the registration process. The New Day Bereavement Support Group Ministry of Consolation
