WILEY JAY HOWARD

NORTH JUDSON, IN - Wiley Jay

“Jay” Howard, 71, died Wednesday, January 21, 2026. He was born January 23, 1955 in Plainwell, Michigan to the late Lavotis (Reed) Minix and Wiley Howard. Jay was easygoing and kind. He had worked as a timber buyer for Whitaker Logging and also at O’s Tap. He enjoyed hunting, throwing horseshoes, shooting pool, playing bingo, relaxing with a cold bear and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children: Alisia (Kenny) Van Asdall and Jennie Prado, both of Knox, Indiana, three grandchildren, four sisters: Rita Long and Donna (Greg) Stiles, both of Plymouth, Indiana, Wanda Dugard of Pendleton, Indiana and Ellie Mae Whitaker of Plainwell and Beverly Howard of North Judson, with whom he shared many years with. He was preceded in death by siblings: Henry Whitaker, Pauline Gill, Betty Gayheart, Barbara Risner, Phyllis Ann Summey, Carol Jean Risner and Ressie Kae Howard.

Services were held Tuesday, January 27 at Braman & Bailey Funeral Home, with Kenneth VanAsdall officiating. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery in North Judson.

Arrangements were made by Braman & Bailey Funeral Home in North Judson.

CAROL S. MARTINDALE

STAR CITY, IN - Carol S. Martindale, 79, died Friday, January 23, 2026 at her home. She was born May 17, 1946 in Francesville, Indiana to the late Melvin L. and Mamie S. (Culp) Myers. On June 6, 1964 in Francesville, she married George H. Martindale.

Carol attended Francesville High School. She was a longtime member of the Star City United Methodist Church and was active with the United Methodist Women. Years ago, she was a Girl Scout Leader. She had worked as a waitress at local eateries such as Matilda’s in Winamac, Indiana and Oak Grove in Star City. She was also a caregiver and babysitter for many over the years. She loved her family very much.

She is survived by her husband, George, one son, Nathan L. “Nate” Martindale of Star City, three sisters: Martha J. Losh of Medaryville, Indiana, Janet I. (Dennis) Haschel of Winamac and Evelyn M. Dunker of Francesville and one brother, M. David (Della) Myers of Francesville. She was preceded in death by siblings: Annie Marie Wood, Ronald L. “Zeke” Myers, Donald W. “Donnie” Myers and Sheryl L. Hunt.

Visitation will be from 4-8pm EST on Thursday, January 29 at Frain Mortuary. Services will be held at 10am EST on Friday, January 30 at Frain Mortuary with Pastors Bruce Fultz and Joseph Martindale officiating. Burial will be in the Buck Cemetery in Thornhope, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the Star City Community Fund at the Community Foundation of Pulaski County for the Star City Park.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

CW3 DAVID HENRY SPARKS

WINAMAC, IN - CW3 David Henry

“Dave” Sparks, US Army Ret., 84 died Saturday, January 24, 2026 at the Franciscan Health Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana. He was born December 18, 1941 in Lawton, Indiana to the late Henry Willard and Annabelle (Bitterling) Sparks. On February 1, 1994 in Las Vegas, Indiana, he married Carol Jean (Pettit) Reed. She died on March 15, 2016.

Dave attended Monterey High School and after 11th grade he joined the US Army, where he served for over 20 years and included serving with distinction in Vietnam, meritorious war service and a prestigious career in military intelligence. He then went on to have a successful civilian career in aerospace and retired from Northrop Corporation in Pico Rivera, California. He served several years on the Pulaski County Board of Zoning Appeals. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by one son, David James (Alicia) Sparks of Wilmington, California, one step son, Scott (Heather) Meyer of Long Beach, California, two step daughters: Sherry (Robert) Keith of Hurst, Texas and Cara (Matt) Ansis of Chicago, Illinois, four grandsons, seven step grandchildren and one brother, Douglas (Catherine) Sparks of Winamac. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Susann Lynn Sparks and siblings: Deanna Pletka and Daniel Sparks.

Graveside services will be held at 1pm EST on Tuesday, February 10 at the Winamac Cemetery (McKinley Addition) in Winamac. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pulaski Animal Center or the Pulaski County Human Services.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

KEITH DUANE DOLLAHAN

KNOX, IN - Keith Duane Dollahan, 70, died Thursday, January 22, 2026 in Knox,Indiana. He was born August 2, 1955 in Knox to the late Ronald Dollahan and Phyllis (Miller) Dollahan.

Keith enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, riding his Harley and spending time with his friends. He is survived by four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son Keith Dollahan Jr, daughter, Denise Payne one grandddaughter Emily McGee and brother Ronald Dollahan.

Friends will be received 10 AM till time of service at 12 PM, Friday, January 30, 2026 at the Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Knox. Services will be held at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Friday, January 30, 2026 at 12 PM. Interment will follow in the Grovertown Cemetery, Grovertown, Indiana. Memorial may be made to the funeral home.

Arrangements were made by Braman & Son Memorial Chapel in Knox.

NANCY A. SELLERS

KNOX, IN - Nancy A. Sellers, 88, died Friday, January 16, 2026. She was born May 2, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Robert and Eileen Newton. In 1980, she married James Sellers. He died in May of 2025. Nancy graduated from Lewis College. She lived in Custer, South Dakota for a time, where she had a quarter horse and cattle ranch and also worked as a reporter for the Custer Times newspaper. She loved vacationing at Bass Lake and later in life, moved to the Knox area. She had worked as a secretary at the Geisler Law Offices, a courtroom stenographer, a veterinary assistant to Dr. Gregg Keeker and worked nearly 20 years as a loan officer for the Farmers Home Administration until she retired in 1999. She loved animals. She was an avid supporter of 4-H, and she loved keeping houseplants and aquariums.

She is survived by two daughters: Beth Baker of Knox and Bonnie Samuelson of Culver, Indiana.

Honoring her wishes, there will be no services.
