The Fulton County Animal Adoption and Education Center is offering a biweekly program to not only spay and neuter cats, but also get them vaccinated. All county residents are welcome to pay a $25 fee per cat for the service, with the next spay-neuter day being Thursday, May 22. The program is made possible by the Bissell Pet Foundation’s Fix the Future initiative. “So Bissell pays for our veterinarian, which allows us to lower our costs to only $25 per cat,” said Center Development and Programs Director Janet Showley. Showley said those at the center assist the veterinarian, Dr. Samantha Shields of White County, with the surgeries. Up to 40 cats are served on each surgery date, with appointments first come, first served. Showley said those appointments are equally split between male and female cats. People drop off their cats at the
shelter for the surgeries 7:308 a.m. on each designated day, with pickup around 4:30 p.m. the same day.
