LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT & CEO Excellence. What does that mean for a business? More influence? More profits? Engaging culture? In sports, it is easy to see operation excellence by the results on the field, pitch, court, or park… like the 1927 Yankees, 1972 Miami Dolphins, the 1980 United States Hockey team, or my personal favorite, the 1976 Indiana Hoosiers. What made each team great and what makes each company great is the degree to which the individuals know their purpose and believe that when they play or work as a team, they become a force greater than the sum of their parts. It takes a collective mission, vision, and a will to achieve greatness. Excellence in and of itself is not a skill, but a belief, an attitude, that everything matters. I believe that in 2021, Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce is example of operational excellence. I am so proud of this team and what we have accomplished. I know that I could fill this page with all the acknowledgements, awards, and recognitions that we have received, but please indulge me as I list a few of our most amazing accomplishments: · 100 new Chamber members! Our previous record was 62. RECORD OBLITERATED! Well done Scott Wiley and team for making sure we are communicating our value to our community, our members. · Ninety-three percent retention rate! While this is not a record, it is well above the 88% industry rate and continues to demonstrate an excellent value for your membership dollars. · Over 4 million impressions on Social Media! Well done Lauren Klusman and team for putting together a successful strategy, telling our members’ stories, and promoting their business in a fun and informative manner. · 156 NEW CHILDCARE SEATS! Well done Sherry Searles and the rest of the Launchpad coalition for getting more capacity in our community for high quality childcare! And I know there is more to come very soon! · A flawless financial review! Well done Michelle Goble for making sure that we keep our financial books to the highest standard, ensuring that the Chamber is a trustworthy leader in our community! The list could go on and on and I know that many of our members feel the same way about your employees, your work family. Excellence is something we all pursue. In 2021, with all the pandemic at bay, only to reemerge, being excellent has been a challenge. Covid fatigue, differing viewpoints, rapid inflationary pressures, low workplace participation and so many more reasons to feel uncertain and defeated. Yet, amid these struggles, so many businesses continue to be excellent. You continue to explore new and creative ways to service your customers and remain healthy, both physically and financially. The Chamber believes in better days ahead for all, but especially for those that believe that excellence is the only way to conduct business. In October, we launched our ﬁrst podcast, called In the Loop. This podcast gives listeners the inside scoop on all things business, community, and shares the stories of those who call Kosciusko County home.

We recently received 501(c)(3) status from the IRS. This classiﬁcation allows the Chamber to operate a private foundation. The primary focus of the foundation is early childhood education and childcare. This allows LaunchPad to be eligible for both receiving and making grants to build high quality childcare capacity in the county.

This year, we introduced a new program called Kosciusko Kudos. Kosciusko Kudos recognition is given throughout the year to individuals and businesses who go above and beyond in the workplace.

WCDC made the decision to begin operating under a new name, Main Street Warsaw. This rebranding strategy reﬂects both the evolution of the organization as well as its vision for the future.

LETTER FROM THE BOARD CHAIR Serving as the Chair of the 2021 Board of Directors for the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce has been an honor. I am proud of the way our community and the Chamber have risen to the challenge over the past year and supported one another. I have enjoyed my tenure as Board Chair and believe that the work we have accomplished this year has been of great benefit to our members and Kosciusko County. Through our engagements in the community, we have worked hard to make Kosciusko County the best place in the state to live, work, and play. I am honored to be a part of such a great organization that is committed to the success of our community as a whole. This year, the Chamber set a goal of bringing more positivity and innovative change to Kosciusko County. With this in mind, we introduced our new Kosciusko Kudos program, which recognizes businesses and individuals in the community throughout the year who go above and beyond in the workplace. Additionally, the Chamber launched its first podcast called “In the Loop with the Kosciusko Chamber.” “In the Loop” provides listeners with the inside scoop on all things business and community, and shares the stories of those who call Kosciusko County home. A third, and maybe the most notable new addition to the Chamber’s repertoire, are our Instagram and Facebook videos that feature local businesses in a fun and entertaining way. Keeping with the theme of change, in 2021, the Chamber hosted its first Membership Celebration Luncheon at the Blue Barn Berry Farm in July. This was a time for everyone to come together after a difficult year to network and honor the previous year’s Chamber award recipients. We also hosted a luncheon with United States Representative Jim Banks, as well as legislative review sessions with local elected officials earlier in the year. In order to fill a need in Kosciusko County, the Chamber stepped up and began offering live scan fingerprinting services. The Chamber made the decision to take the necessary steps and complete training to become a certified fingerprinting location to help support local childcare workers. Previously, Kosciusko County residents were often required to travel out of the county to complete their necessary fingerprinting, which hindered local employers’ ability to onboard the new staff members they need to operate. Currently, the Chamber is the only fingerprinting location in the county. The Chamber has a variety of committees, one of which is Kosciusko County Young Adult Professionals, commonly referred to as YAP. In 2021, YAP members began volunteering with a number of local organizations. Some of their volunteer efforts include, serving meals at Fellowship Missions, adopting a family for Christmas through Combined Community Services, and delivering Mobile Meals for Kosciusko Senior Services. In 2021, the Chamber welcomed a record setting 100 new members and held 54 ribbon cuttings. I want to thank all of you for your continued support of the Chamber and our community as a whole. Your support enables the Chamber to fulfill our mission of being a voice for our members to stimulate healthy and diverse business growth in Kosciusko County. It truly is an honor to live and work alongside so many dedicated, driven, and caring individuals.

In late 2020, the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce launched Kosciusko Cash, a new community gift certificate. Kosciusko Cash can be redeemed at any participating merchant and purchased online at kchamber.com. The intended purpose of this program is to encourage people to shop local. Instead of giving family, friends, clients or employees national brand gift cards, individuals and businesses can now give them Kosciusko Cash to help support our local businesses. For a limited time only, the Chamber is offering BOGO certificates to help launch the program. For every $20 spent, the Chamber will send the recipient a $10 Give Back certificate. The Give Back BOGO is limited to $100 per person. Kosciusko Cash is a one time use certificate, the minimum purchase is face value of the certificate. The Chamber recommends purchasing Kosciusko Cash in small dollar amounts in order to use it at different businesses.
