A bulldog born without a tail. Is that a fault? Yes or no?
Betty Davey has answered this question for us: The answer is "YES".....and a very emphatic "YES" at that....First of all, a tail is mentioned and described in all Standards and lack of tail is, after all, a missing appendage....Most importantly, many Inverted tails cause constant itching, irritation, an be a very risky business...…..Most inverted tails are high set, rather than low set, frequently on top of the croup....It should be noted that small tight tails on newborns can become inverted as the pups mature...…..Responsible breeders should always breed to the Standard......NOT what's winning in the showring.
Merry Christmas and a happy 2024!
