Over 100 community members and stakeholders attended the official Grand Opening of the Tiger Athletic Community Center (TACC) on Wednesday, July 29. Prior to the ribbon cutting, Shelby Township Supervisor Richard Raffaelli, above at far left, recognized the many individuals, groups and businesses who were key in bringing the center from a dream to reality. TACC General Manager Vanessa Fernandez-Torres was also pleased to reveal the official mascot name, selected by popular vote as, "Roary." Earl and Linda Peterson, above center, helped to cut the ribbon with Senator Jon Bumstead. Standing behind them are Randy Stovall of Stovall Construction, CEO of Orthopaedic Associates of Muskegon Jeff Cave and Shelby Township Deputy Clerk Beth Schultz. Michigan voters to cast ballots in August 4 Primary Early voting continues at the Hart Community Center from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Aug. 2 for the upcoming Aug. 4 Primary. Amongst the candidate listing, there is a notable absence of a candidate for District 2 (Shelby Township and Ferry Township) on the Oceana County Board of Commissioners. This seat is currently held by Joel McCormick, who is not seeking re-election, and is for a partial term ending Nov. 20, 2028. There are also multiple proposals seeking approval across various parts of the county. • OCEANA COUNTY PROPOSAL: Mason-Oceana 911 Operating Millage, Oceana County Emergency Ambulance Operating Millage, Renewal and Restoration and Proposition for Renewal of Separate Tax Limitations. • BENONA TOWNSHIP PROPOSAL: Benona Township Road Millage and Shelby Area District Library Millage Proposal. • GRANT TOWNSHIP PROPOSAL: Grant Township Millage for Road Construction and Maintenance. • HART TOWNSHIP PROPOSAL: Hart Township 7 Year Cemetery Millage . • SHELBY TOWNSHIP PROPOSAL: Shelby Township Millage Renewal Proposition for

Shelby Township Road Maintenance and Improvement, and for Township Cemeteries and Public Parks Improvement and Maintenance Purposes. • WALKERVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS PROPOSAL: Walkerville Public Schools Operating Millage Proposal. • HESPERIA PUBLIC LIBRARY PROPOSAL: Hesperia Community Library Millage Proposal. • PENTWATER DISTRICT LIBRARY PROPOSAL: Pentwater District Library Millage Proposal.
