Vegreville Vimy Ridge Ceremony
Rosanne Fortier The Battle of Vimy Ridge’s attack began at 5:30 a.m. on Easter Monday, April 9, 1917. Vegreville Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 39 presented a commemorative ceremony to honor the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge at the Vegreville Cenotaph
on April 9. Prior to the ceremony, the March on the Colors paraded from the Legion to Vegreville Cenotaph. The ceremony was followed by O’Canada, last post, and two minutes of silence.
