At Mount Vernon, BOOST is more than academic support; it’s a personalized pathway designed to help students with diagnosed learning differences build skills, confidence, and independence. Through small-group instruction, evidence-based strategies, and a whole-child approach, BOOST meets students where they are and helps them grow into capable, self-aware learners, building mastery of essential skills.
Each BOOST pathway is adaptive, shaped by ongoing assessment, teacher expertise, parent partnership, and the student’s own curiosity and agency.
“BOOST PROVIDES THE STRUCTURE AND SUPPORT STUDENTS NEED removingwithout THEM FROM THE FULL MOUNT VERNON EXPERIENCE.”

OUR GOAL
Students who complete a BOOST pathway transition to a fully mainstream learning environment at the pace that’s right for them.
BOOST supports students with documented learning differences, including:
• Dyslexia
• Dysgraphia
• Dyscalculia
• Language processing disorders
• ADHD
Students must have a current psychoeducational evaluation and documented diagnosis.
Lower School BOOST supports students in Grades 3–5 through targeted early intervention designed to strengthen foundational skills. Instruction occurs in small groups with reduced student-to-teacher ratios, allowing for personalized feedback, intentional scaffolding, and meaningful growth.
