The eighteenth edition of the Madison Journal of Literary Criticism is an anthology of curated work and staff-written pieces that responds to the harms of the carceral state.
As our corresponding study group this semester engaged with topics of reproductive & bodily autonomy, surveillance, the Zapatistas, and food sovereignty, our publication conveys the multiple aspects of autonomy. From academic essays about Puerto Rico & tourism, to poems of resilience, this collection examines the concept of Autonomy through the various mediums of essays, art, fiction, academia, and poetry. We are honored to share the work of these talented writers and artists with all of you.
Please enjoy the Autonomy edition.
