The fifteenth edition of the Madison Journal of Literary Criticism is an anthology of curated work and staff written pieces that responds to the harms of the carceral state with revolutionary transformation and metamorphosis, examining how the duality of revolution informs our advocacy and change making abilities. As our corresponding study group this semester engaged with topics of both violent and nonviolent resistance, electoral politics, and revolutionary care, our publication conveys their multiple interpretations of “revolution.” From prose regarding community care to essays on the Cuban Revolution and Wisconsin Books to Prisoners. We are honored to present the work of these talented artists and visionaries with you all.
