City of Doncaster Council prosecuted a resident of Ramsden Road in Hexthorpe, for fly-tipping and repeatedly allowing waste to build up in his rear garden. The man first came to the attention of the council’s environmental enforcement team when they received complaints about a large amount of rubbish accumulating in an alleyway near his then-home address. Searching through the physical evidence, and examining CCTV footage to catch him in the act of fly-tipping, they were soon able to identify the
his property. The waste was cleared up by the council and a prosecution was then brought against the man. Speaking about this, Glyn Jones, Deputy Mayor said: “These environmental offences are unacceptable, and we have absolutely zero tolerance for them here in Doncaster. The illegal dumping of rubbish anywhere in our communities, even by allowing waste to build up in your own garden, has a negative impact on others, causes harm to the environment, and can attract vermin like mice and rats. That is why our

The following month, the man found himself at the centre of yet another investigation when officers noticed a significant buildup of household and food waste in his rear garden. He was then given an opportunity to clear this up but neglected to do so within the allotted timeframe. This turned out to be the first of two separate offences of this kind from the man, as the situation repeated itself less than a year later, when waste was once again discovered building up at the back of

Additionally, you can use it to check that a business is officially registered as a waste carrier and to arrange for the collection of bulky items.
