SOLARIS POWER 64 LONG RANGE YACHT UNVEILED WITH FOCUS ON SPACE AND OFFSHORE CAPABILITY
Solaris Power has released the first images of the new Solaris Power 64 Long Range yacht, confirming that the model is already under construction and moving forward in the yard’s expanding lineup.
Positioned as a long-range evolution of the brand’s walkaround platform, the 19.7-meter yacht brings a clear focus on volume, usability, and offshore capability.
The early visuals point to a design that stays close to Solaris Power’s core identity - clean lines, open circulation, and a strong emphasis on practical seakeeping - while introducing a more developed onboard layout geared toward extended cruising.
Circulation-Led Layout
At the center of the 64 LR is a deck plan that prioritizes circulation. Wide, well-protected walkways run the full length of the yacht, enabling safe movement between bow and stern even in less favorable conditions. This remains a defining feature of the Solaris Power range, now carried forward into a larger, more volume-driven platform.
The foredeck has been configured as a social zone, with two opposing horseshoe-shaped sofas linked by twin tables. This creates a flexible space suited to informal dining, drinks, or quiet time at anchor, with uninterrupted views forward.

Further aft, the cockpit and beach area take on a more central role. The stern platform of the motor yacht can be raised or

A key addition to the 64 LR is its flybridge, designed as a fully usable upper deck rather than a secondary space. The layout includes a large sofa, sunbeds, and a dedicated dining table, supported by a compact galley for drinks and light meals.
Sharp Bow and Balanced Hull
This upper deck extends the superyacht’s usable footprint and introduces a second social hub, giving owners and guests more flexibility in how they spend time on board. Stability has also been addressed through hull form rather than reliance on stabilizers. According to the builder, the design supports steady cruising and comfort both underway and at anchor, with reduced roll in a range of conditions. Efficiency is another key part of the equation. Hydrodynamic studies and weight distribution have been used to limit fuel consumption, extending range and lowering emissions.
The 64 Long Range measures 19.7 meters overall with a beam of 5.62 meters, placing it firmly in the upper end of the walkaround segment while pushing toward more traditional long-range territory. Performance figures indicate a top speed of 28 knots and a cruising speed of 18 knots, balancing efficiency with usable pace.

More Than 5,700 Cubic Yards Removed to Deepen Slips and Open Near-Shore Berths
Jacksonville, FL – April 15, 2026 — PORT 32 Marinas, LLC (PORT 32) – a leading owner, operator, developer, and acquirer of a growing collection of irreplaceable marina assets in premier markets, is proud to announce that PORT 32 Jacksonville has successfully completed a comprehensive dredging project. The project deepened marina slips to an average of five feet at mean low water and opened previously inaccessible berths closer to shore.
Set at the intersection of the St. Johns and Ortega Rivers, PORT 32 Jacksonville occupies one of the most strategically positioned waterfront sites in Northeast Florida. Located 25 miles from the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean, the marina sits close to downtown Jacksonville and within walking distance of a wide range of dining and shopping destinations.
Completed in just over three months, the project removed more than 5,700 cubic yards of sediment, deepening marina slips to an average of five feet at mean low water. The result: previously limited near-shore berths are now fully operational, increasing usable capacity and allowing for a broader range of vessels across the property.
With the dredging project now complete, near-shore slips that were previously limited by sediment depth are fully operational, expanding the marina’s overall capacity and improving the experience for both current members and prospective slip holders.
The dredging effort required the temporary relocation of more than 130 vessels to allow crews full access to the affected slips. For members who were not present to move their boats, PORT
32 Jacksonville coordinated directly with the local TowBoatUS franchise to provide professional relocation assistance, ensuring continuity of service and minimizing disruption throughout the project.

Florida Blue Crab Nachos
Ingredients
1/2 pound crabmeat, drained, shell pieces removed
1 ½ cups jack cheese blend, shredded
1 cup cooked black beans, drained and rinsed
2 medium-sized tomatoes, diced 1 small can diced green chilies, drained
1/2 cup scallions, diced 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
1 teaspoon dried cumin
1/2 bag tortilla chips
Directions: Preheat the oven to broil.
On a large cookie sheet, evenly distribute the tortilla chips. Evenly distribute the rest of the ingredients except the cilantro, over the tortilla chips.
Place the topped tortillas in the oven on a middle rack.
Cook nachos under the broiler for 5 to 7 minutes or until cheese is completely melted. Make sure to keep a good eye on the nachos because they will burn under the broiler if not careful.
Slide the cooked nachos off the cookie sheet and onto a similar sized platter.
Garnish nachos with the fresh cilantro. Serve nachos immediately.

This document walks you through the process and explains how to complete the Clean Marina Action Plan (CMAP) checklist. In addition, CMP conducts introductory workshops around the state several times a year. • While attendance is not required, these gatherings are an excellent way to become more familiar with the qualifications required to become a designated facility, socialize with program members and learn about available assistance within your area. • You may email Clean.Marina.Program@FloridaDEP.gov or call the program manager, Pamela Grainger, at 850-245-2846 with any questions.
2. Take the Florida Clean Marina Pledge and Submit an Application: CMP promotes voluntary adoption of measures to reduce pollution from marinas and recreational boats. After completing a Clean Marina Application and signing the pledge, you make a commitment to actively pursue practices that protect Florida’s waters from harmful chemicals, excess nutrients and marine debris. Upon completion, electronic submission to the Clean Marina Program can be completed by email to Clean. Marina.Program@FloridaDEP.gov.
3. Conduct a Self-assessment of Your Facility: The Florida Clean Marina Action Plan, also known as a CMAP, is designed for use by facility operators to conduct self-assessments on location. Each section of the CMAP corresponds to the best management practices listed within the Florida Clean Marina Best Management Practices. The CMAP is composed for all program
assessments, including Clean Marina, Boatyard, Marine Retailer and/or Clean & Resilient Marina. It is necessary only to complete those sections that are applicable to your facility. Designation as a Florida Clean Marina will be awarded to facilities that meet 100% in the regulatory and legal requirements and at least 60% of the recommended best management practices.

• Environmental Resource Permit (ERP).
• National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES). • Storage Tanks.

This document also will be used by all Florida Clean Marina Program coordinators throughout the state to conduct facility reviews. Upon completion, the CMAP can be emailed to Clean. Marina.Program@FloridaDEP.gov.
4. Contact the Florida Clean Marina Program to Schedule an Environmental Review: The Florida Clean Marina Program’s main office is in Tallahassee. Office staff members are available to provide technical assistance and supply additional information on all topics covered within the Florida Clean Marina Program. Each participating marina operator will be matched with a district coordinator who will facilitate the certification process.

5. Designation: After the site visit and the internal file review verifies there are no outstanding issues with your facility, the coordinator will submit a recommendation to the program
administrator. Provided there are no issues and you have implemented at least 60% of the recommended BMPs, you will be designated. You receive a certificate plus a flag to fly at your marina.
6. Enjoy Your Rewards: As a designated Florida Clean Marina facility, each marina receives a high-quality, domestically manufactured program flag to fly. Designation certificates are also provided for marinas to display, and award ceremonies are available on request. Certified marinas with state lands leases will receive a 10% discount on their lease fees and many more benefits.
• The Florida Clean Marina Program takes pride in its designated facilities and lists all locations within an interactive map. This allows visitors and tourists to view facility details and plan their next excursion to environmentally responsible businesses throughout the state.

Maintain Florida Clean Marina Program Status: The Florida Clean Marina Program follows an annual renewal schedule to ensure that all locations have upheld their commitment to implementing best management practices. Every December, an electronic notification is sent to all designated facilities with detailed information on renewal procedures. The annual renewal process includes completing the renewal form and serves as an excellent opportunity to update the program on any new best management practices that have been adopted by your

11. Big players are consolidating the market
Large companies like Safe Harbor Marinas and Suntex have expanded their reach through acquisitions and partnerships across the U.S. Blackstone’s February 2025 purchase of Safe Harbor Marinas for $5.65 billion, including its 138 locations, demonstrates how major players are changing the game. These consolidations help larger operators standardize services, negotiate better supplier deals, and improve overall efficiency. Meanwhile, smaller independent marinas face growing pressure.
To stay viable, they must specialize their offerings, improve customer experiences, or form partnerships with bigger firms to remain competitive in a shrinking independent market.
12. Sustainability investments are now a competitive advantage
More marinas are winning over customers and boosting profits by making a genuine effort towards sustainability. For example, the Port of Vancouver’s EcoAction Program offers up to 75% off harbor dues for boats using low-emission fuels, such as LNG, methanol, or hydrogen, and those employing technologies like shore power or battery assist. Similarly, the Port of Gothenburg is investing in shoreside power infrastructure, aiming to connect seven berths to the grid by 2030, which will significantly reduce CO2 emissions.
These initiatives highlight the importance of integrating environmental sustainability into port development. With over 80% of global trade by volume transported by sea, the impact of such measures is profound. Ports that lead in sustainability not only contribute to environmental preservation but also enhance their competitiveness in the global market.

Spanish Mackerel and Family Fun
May signals the start of some of the best fishing Tampa Bay has to offer. From Double Branch in the north to Bishop Harbor in the south, anglers enjoy exceptional inshore opportunities throughout the region. As water temperatures rise, snook begin migrating from creeks and rivers to the flats and passes in preparation for spawning around the first full moon of May.
Redfish and trout that inhabit the flats year-round start feeding heavily on greenback sardines. This seasonal influx of bait fuels spring fishing and typically lasts until the first cold front of fall. Look for bait along the mangroves, as game fish are rarely far behind.
Spanish mackerel and cobia also follow bait schools inside the Skyway Bridge. Larger concentrations tend to hold near tripods, artificial reefs, and rocky bottom areas from Channel A just inside the bridge north to the Howard Frankland Bridge. Spanish mackerel, in particular, provide fast-paced action and consistent results, making them a favorite target for my clients. I often begin the day by
locating a large school to get the bite started. Once 30 to 40 fish are landed, it’s time to move on to the next opportunity.
My approach to Spanish mackerel fishing is simple. Locate the bait, anchor, and establish a steady chum line to keep fish feeding behind the boat. Cut greenbacks work well, as does a five-pound block of frozen chum. Light-action tackle is ideal: a 7½-foot rod, a 2500-size spinning reel spooled with 10-pound braided line, a No. 1 XX-long shank hook, and approximately 30 inches of 30-pound fluorocarbon leader. The long shank hook eliminates the need for wire leader and results in more strikes.

Snook Season- Countdown to the Closure Trout and redfish have been cooperative. Occasionally, Spanish mackerel would run along the beaches and just inside the bays, or a random flounder or pompano might be caught, but with snook season ending at the end of April, anglers have been hitting the water hard trying to put the last linesider in the cooler before the closure, despite the high winds that have been plaguing the region most days. High pressure that moves in with these windy days also puts a negative spin on catching.
Snook are super sensitive fish with a big lateral line running down their sides. This line is like radar or sonar that can detect minute changes in pressure, such as a boat wake, atmospheric changes, lure and baitfish vibrations, and even wade fishermen shuffling along on a flat. Perhaps these are some of the reasons that the pursuit of snook is so popular. They are wily characters and can be elusive at times.
That doesn’t keep anglers from trying to catch snook, but it does at least get them trying, and in the process, trout and redfish, and possibly even flounder or pompano have been caught. While targeting fish might be the goal, sometimes you catch other species that are more willing to chew.
West Central Florida
are often harder to locate and less aggressive. Mackerel offer nonstop action that keeps young anglers engaged. One recent trip with the Davis family resulted in more than 50 mackerel landed, with many more lost to cutoffs. For Adrian, who chose a fishing trip to celebrate his 13th birthday, it was an unforgettable day on the water—and a great reminder of the value of getting kids outdoors and away from screens.

West Central Florida
Scattered reports from anglers catching pompano on Doc’s Goofy Jigs have been coming in from not only our region but from many areas of the state. These fish are constantly on the move and difficult to target when they do.
Flounder fishing has been tough lately. This fishery has been recovering from red tide several years ago, but the passes and nearshore artificial reefs are probably your best bet to locate some.
Trout are somewhat plentiful in certain areas and scarce in others. Patchy areas of grass with potholes on the flats in 3-to 5 feet of water are where we find most of them. But catches of some larger fish have been reported in many areas of Tampa Bay and lower Tampa Bay near the Manatee River. Trout have been the most consistent catches of all species we have targeted. I’ve done well with them using the MirrOlure Duke Dog surface-walking lure and the DOA Shrimp.
Redfish action seems to be where you find them. Some areas have good numbers of fish. We’ve found a lot of small redfish in the Terra Ceia area. Schools of these small fish could possibly be those that were released by
CCA that were hatchery-raised several months ago. Most have been around 12-to 16-inches in length. The legal reds we have been catching have come on CAL Jigs with Shad tails and MirrOlure Lil John jerk baits. The Weedon Island area has been holding good numbers of redfish, but it also sees a lot of boat traffic. Upper Tampa Bay has some over-slot reds that anglers have been catching on live pilchards.
So, the bottom line is this…the clock is ticking down on snook before the closure, but if you can’t make it out on the water, don’t fret too much because there are still some great opportunities to catch some tasty fish and see some good action. ‘Til then…I’ll catch ya later!

Happy Mothers Day! May offers great fishing for the Jupiter and Palm beach area. Local waters are teaming with a plethora of species, anglers can expect plenty of rod bending action.
Snook fishing heats up, snook start to migrate to local passes and beaches for up coming spawn. The snook can be seen cruising along sea walls and docks in search of food. Live bait and DOA 3” shad tail on a 1/4 ounce jig head casted in there vicinity will get your drag screaming. Bait schools will be in our local area and this is the time for top water action. Rapala skitter walks worked over open flats and near heavy structure causes for some explosive action. If you have never experienced top water action for snook, I recommend you try there is nothing like it. The snook will range in size from 5 to 20 pounds.
Tarpon “silver king” an awesome fishing providing acrobatic leaps and drag screaming runs for anglers. Tarpon can be found in the ICW, local inlets and beaches. Live baits like mullet or pinfish work great. Artificial lures, DOA 3” shad tail and a DOA Terror Eyz will get the

drag screaming.
The inshore waters will also be teaming with jacks, sharks, ladyfish, snapper, and many other species, putting a bend in the rod. Live bait, freelined with the tide or Rapala x wrap will get the strike.
Mid spring and the patterns are changing for the good, weather heating up still weak fronts trying to penetrate South Florida. Angers are having fun wrangling variety species.
Tarpon fishing has been excellent, areas to target them have been mangrove shorelines, channels and bays. These fish have been schooled up allowing anglers to target them with live bait and artificial baits like a Doa terror eyz. Both sides of the tides have been productive. These fish have been ranging in size from 5 to 40 pounds. The bigger tarpon have started to show up but have been shy at times.
Anglers looking to target snook, mangrove shorelines are holding schooling fish seawalls as well. Live bait‘s free lined along the structure will create the strike.
Common snook, fat,
snook, and sword spine snook have been abundant the past week. The next full moon should start to trigger a migratory push of snook towards deeper channels and passes.
Jack Crevalle have been very active the past week. Anglers have enjoyed targeting jacks with Rapala skitter walks, creating explosive surface tracks. Live bait also works as well, seawalls have been the main area to target the bigger fish.
Well that is the fishing forecast for May. I hope everybody enjoyed, now get out there and experience the thrill of drag screaming action. Tight Lines!
It’s been a while since my last report and a lot has happened. This is our busiest time of year and hopefully I can recap some of the things we have done since our last report. The boat is doing fine. We just replaced the flooring in November and since then I have replaced all the electronics with the newest and latest from Simrad. We have the new NSS4’s and the new Halo 3000 radar. Only way to stay on top of your game is to have the best tools you can have!
Sailfish are still around. April so far has been a great month and the best month of the year for sailfishing so far. We have had quite a few doubledigit release days and even more 6 – 9 releases per day. We haven’t gotten the 20 fish release day this year and although it is getting a little late in the season, there is still hope.
Besides sailfish, we have done just a couple of swordfish trips and have successfully caught another swordfish in the daytime hand cranking. If you need to catch a swordfish to complete you IGFA slam (catching all the species of billfish) we have the technique and knowledge to do it
without the use of an electric reel. For those that just want to catch one, we still offer the electric/manual reels as an option.
I also was able to go to the Bahamas on one trip with my buddies and go chase yellowfin tunas in the channel. We didn’t crush it but managed to catch a few real nice size yellowfin tunas. It was a lot of fun and we had great weather.
While kite fishing for sails, mahis have been around almost the whole winter and spring. A week or so ago there were a lot of big mahis being caught. We caught a 31 lb. cow and heard of some up to 55 lbs. being caught. That’s hopefully a sign that our summer mahi season will be strong. Last year’s mahi season was not that good. Another good sign started yesterday. After hooking a couple of sailfish on the edge and catching a kingfish, the wind died off completely. Even the helium ballon on the kite was not enough for a good presentation. So, we ran offshore a bit after hearing some schools of mahis were
being found. Before we even put out a spread, we saw some birds and ran to them. There was a school of 100 mahis under the birds. We caught our fair share before they disappeared. We stated trolling and found another big school of mahis. After that we found another big school. Very promising for a good Mahi season ahead.

AMERICA CLASSES - The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 11-1 Clearwater is pleased to offer the Boat America® Safe Boating Course to area boaters throughout 2026. With Florida leading the nation in both registered recreational vessels and boating-related accidents, boating safety education has never been more important.
To better serve the community, Flotilla 11-1 Clearwater offers the Boat America Safe Boating Course both in person in Clearwater and virtually via Zoom. These flexible learning options make it easier for boaters to meet Florida’s education requirements while accessing life-saving information.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive a Boating Safety Education ID Card issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). This card is required for many operators and is often recognized by insurance companies for potential policy discounts.

FLORIDA BOATERS CAN NOW TAKE FREE STATE-APPROVED BOATING SAFETY
COURSE - At-home learning helps Florida boaters prepare for the water easily and conveniently. The BoatUS Foundation for Boating Safety and Clean Water has launched the only free interactive boating safety course for Florida recreational boaters. The course, which is approved by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and meets state boating safety education requirements, can be taken at the student’s own pace. After passing the exam, they can print their own certificate of completion for immediate use and will receive a lifetime card from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.The course provides video demonstrations and sample common boating situations for students to interact with to better understand how to evaluate real-world instances. The learning experience includes storylines where the student “boats” to various places and includes interactive learning tools like flashcards and drag-and-drop features to enhance learning and retention. Coursetakers will be able to design and name the virtual boat that takes them through the course and map how far they’ve “traveled” within it. In the state of Florida, anyone born on or after January 1, 1988, who operates a vessel powered by 10 horsepower or more must pass an approved boating safety course and have in his/her possession photographic identification and proof of boating safety education completion issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The online BoatUS Foundation boating safety course and exam are approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) and recognized by the U.S. Coast Guard as exceeding the minimum requirements for the National Recreational Boating Safety Program. “NASBLA approval of our Florida Boating Safety Course is a meaningful investment in boater safety, said Lynne O’Hearn, Program Manager at BoatUS Foundation. “Boater education is one of the most effective ways to prevent accidents, and this course gives Florida boaters the opportunity to build their skills to better enjoy Florida waterways safely.”

UNITED STATES COAST GUARD FLOTILLA 7-16 OFFERS SAFE BOATING CLASSES IN GULFPORT, FL, MEETS THE THIRD
WEDNESDAY OF EACH MONTH. These classes qualify the attendee for the FWC Safe Boating Card. This card is required for most people born after January 1, 1988 to legally operate a power boat with greater than 10hp motor in Florida. The one-day class includes instruction on safety equipment, boat handling, rules of the road, navigation aids, communications, trailering, legal requirements and others. Power and sailboats are covered, as well as personal watercraft. Of course, besides making a boater in compliance, the main goal of the class is to create a safer boater. Classes are offered on the second Saturday of each month. To sign up, contact Marty Richardson at (630) 674-5352. Flotilla 7-16 also performs free courtesy vessel safety inspections for power and sail boats, personal watercraft, and paddle craft. The inspector will come to your location, inspect the required safety features of your vessel, and if you pass will provide a safety sticker to mount on your vessel. The inspection is a courtesy, so no action is taken if problems are found. But the vessel owner then knows of any deficiencies to correct before having an accident or being sanctioned by the Coast Guard. A VESSEL SAFETY CHECK - STUART -
Despite numerous COVID-19 restrictions, more and more boaters are taking to the water to alleviate at-home boredom while taking advantage of the open-air benefits and more pandemic-free aspects of recreational boating. But if you haven’t been out boating in a while, are your vessel’s lights operating properly? Do you have a sufficient number of life jackets for the number of passengers aboard? Is your engine’s ventilation system up to par? To get you started on a new year boating adventure, now may be a perfect time to consider getting a 2025 Vessel Safety Check (VSC) offered by certified VSC examiners from the St. Lucie River Power Squadron, also known as America’s Boating Club of Martin County. These trained VSC examiners from the local squadron will point out safety features such as minimum requirements required by the U.S. Coast Guard, examine fundamental mechanical aspects of your vessel, and answer questions how you can have more fun safely on the water. These are just a few of the many discussion points covered in this voluntary examination. As an added plus, Vessel Safety Checks are free to boat owners. And if you don’t “pass muster” with the thorough examination, the summary report is yours and yours alone. BOATING CLASSES - A Vessel Safety Check is a complimentary check of your boat conducted by members of the Auxiliary, confirming that it meets both federal and state requirements for safety. No citations are issued, and the results of the safety check are not reported to any enforcement agency, but a decal is awarded to display when the vessel has passed the examination. The Vessel Safety Check (VSC) is performed at your boat, whether in a slip, at the launch ramp, or in your driveway, by a certified Vessel Examiner, at a mutually-convenient time. It usually takes
20-45 minutes, depending on the size of your boat. After successful inspection you are awarded a vessel safety check sticker which is affixed to your vessel near your state registration sticker. SARASOTA FLOTILLA 82 OF THE USCG AUXILIARY Florida law requires that any person born on or after Jan. 1, 1988, may not operate a vessel powered by a motor of 10 horsepower or greater unless such person has in his or her possession, aboard the vessel, photographic identification, a Florida boater safety identification card (or any other state’s boating card), and the registration for their vessel. Regarding the above law, which has been in effect for over a year, Flotilla 82 of the USCG Auxiliary, based in Sarasota, Florida (at Mote Marine) offers a 1-day course held on the last Saturday of each month. It starts at 9:00 am and completes at 5:00 pm. The course includes the USCG exam which, if passed, results in a Florida lifetime boating card/license.
