Pass/Fail Option for Seniors

In order to encourage risk-taking, nurture student curiosity, shift student focus from grades to learning, and support student wellness, Lovett instituted a Pass/Fail option in the 2018-19 school year. Seniors who are enrolled in at least five academic classes may request to receive a Pass or Fail grade rather than a numerical grade for one course. If approved, the grade reported on the report card and transcript will be a P (70 or higher) or F (below 70). (This option is open only to seniors and only in the fall semester.)

2025 Graduation Requirements & Credits LOVETT DOES NOT PROVIDE RANK Lovett transcripts reflect (unweighted) raw grades on a 100-point scale. Weighted GPAs are calculated using the following scale: +7 for Honors, AP, and Post-AP.

4 English 3 Science 2-4 Electives

3 History 2-3 Language 1 Fine Arts

3-4 Math 1 Religion 1 Physical Education

ACADEMIC DISTINCTIONS IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE CLASS OF 2025 The Class of 2025 is Lovett’s largest class to date. Over the last decade, Lovett’s senior class size has fluctuated between 130 and 150. This year’s class is 188. As you review our students’ applications for admission, please keep in mind that there is more context (limited staffing, class availability, classroom space, and opportunities for advanced curriculum) to consider with this larger class.
