Welcome to another fabulously funny fiasco from the team that brought you The Messy Magic Adventure. When magic is accidentally let loose in the kitchen, everything is turned topsy-turvy. Now, the audience must help sensible Spray and naughty Wipe bake a very special cake before it’s too late, as their kitchen gets messier and messier! Circus, slapstick and magic combine in this wild and wonderful adventure. Suitable for our friends from last year (aged 3+ and their grown-ups) and for those new to the messy magic world, with Q and A or workshop available after the performance. From the award-winning carnie-theatre team that brought you The Messy Magic Adventure, your little ones are invited to join us on a story filled with joy, laughter and the messiest juggling you’ve ever seen. Top tip for weary parents and care-givers, make sure your red rubbish bin is closest to the door for quick and sanitary disposal of your little treasure’s stinky deposits. And remember, never, ever put hot ashes in any kerbside bin. Seeing fire in the rear vision mirror has to be every truck driver’s worst nightmare! Spring Planting Days Wakatipu Reforestation Trust had to cancel there autumn planting days due to Covid-19 restrictions, the plants in the nursery will be spending the winter in their pots. However, they are excited to announce there Spring Planting Dates at there keystone sites. This year's planting will mark an amazing milestone of 50,000 native plants being planted by WRT! This is now the 6th year of planting! Absolutely everyone is welcome. No experience is required, volunteers will be on hand to show you how it's done. We look forward to seeing you there. 12 hour live music festival Arrowtown is celebrating coming out of lockdown with a 12-hour live music festival. There are no door charges and the event runs even if it’s snowing. Intimate venues where locals can support home grown entertainers in our own town known for its warm hospitality. During the festival known as Arrow Sounds, local music rolls around different Arrowtown bars and restaurants for 12 hours on Saturday 20 June from 12 noon to 12 am. Patrons can sample a range of top musos by travelling from venue to venue or simply stop and enjoy a favourite performer in one of the charming venues. Organiser Jeannie Crawford from the Fork and Tap has teamed up with the town’s various licensed venues to support local musos and to give local and visitors a reason to celebrate coming out of lockdown. Jeannie says, “we are excited and can’t wait for the fun to start”. Businesses are working hard to create an amazing event with patrons assured of a “feel good buzz”. A midnight shuttle for only $10 is an easy option home to Lake Hayes Estate, Shotover Country, Queenstown and Arthurs Point.

your flop-free recipe indian spiced pumpkin soup
1 Tbsp olive oil 1 leek, chopped 2 stalks celery, chopped ½ pumpkin, peeled and chopped into cubes 2 cloves garlic,crushed 2 tsps freshly grated ginger 1 tsp curry powder ¾ tsp ground cumin ½ tsp ground coriander 1 tsp tumeric 3 cups chicken stock 1 cup water 1 cup yoghurt Salt & freshly ground pepper to taste Fresh herbs 1 can chickpeas, rinsed and roasted for 20 minutes in oven (garnish) Cook leek in oil until soft, add other vegetables and spices. cook for a minute until fragrant. Add chicken stock and water, bring to a simmer and cook gently for 15-20 minutes until vegetables are soft. Allow to cool slightly before blitzing with a stick blender. Add yoghurt and season to taste. Toss over chickpeas and herbs of choice. Serves 4 10

successful exhibition opening The Lakes District Museum held what they believe was the world's first post-lockdown art exhibition opening last Thursday night. The Arrowtown Art Union Exhibition is sponsored by the Arrowtown Creative Arts Society and features over 100 works from over 40 local artists. Several of the artists have donated 100% of the sale from their artwork to go straight to the museum's earthquake strengthening fund. "It is wonderful to have the gallery full of art and people and life once again - that is what our gallery space is for! We were really happy with the turnout on Thursday and equally thrilled with the number of sales so far. The exhibition runs until the end of July so we hope lots of locals will pop in, have a look, and support our local artists." says Jane Peasey, Project Manager.
