Sharing the good news about Longview Independent School District

Thank you Mrs. Wilson Latitia Wilson retires after years of helping students After a career of helping students, teachers, and parents across three different school districts, Latitia Wilson has retired. “I have always enjoyed learning and helping people. Education afforded me WILSON the opportunity to do both,” Mrs. Wilson said. During her time at Longview ISD, Mrs. Wilson served numerous positions including Teacher and Department Head at LHS, District Assessment Coordinator (Local Assessments), and retiring as the Director of Planning and Analysis. Superintendent Dr. James Wilcox praised Mrs. Wilson’s technical expertise, passion for education and consummate professionalism that guided her as an administrator. “In everything she did on the district level, she never lost touch with what it meant to be a classroom teacher,” he said. “All the facts and figures she dealt with in the course of her duties were never just numbers, they were students. Her love for the students of Longview ISD abided in everything she did as an education professional” After graduating from Marshall High School, Mrs. Wilson went to East Texas State University (Now known as Texas A&M Commerce), and UT Tyler for additional coursework. She grad-
